I love the message and this song. I first heard Richie Haven's version. Then I found the Carlos Santana version on KZbin. Love is the Answer. I love both versions and the message.

Johnny boy pops up in the most unexpected places, if you can stand sitting through that very 1980's of shows Miami Vice, there is a couple of his tunes, in there. The music used to be a big part of the show, and I think if memory serves that it was a couple of tunes off Grace and Danger.

What a beautiful and emotive renditions of John Martyn's classic. I don't usually enjoy such strong songs being given the treatment but this is stunning of its own accord

John doing this during the Transatlantic sessions is an absolute joy. You will find it on youtube. This is a valuable tribute. But no match for the man himself. Sadly missed.

"Denegrating"? This is an extremely important song you should try to understand its meaning. Everyone should play it everyday. Of course John was a one off.

I heard about this song on of all places an economics blog (Bill Mitchell.) I listened to John Martyn do it live first (the reference was to John Martyn) and then I saw this one. I'm sorry I missed John before he passed. He is a talented song writer. Carlos is simply magnificent. It is like he plays with starlight for strings ... I'm going to try the Dr. John version next. It is a good thing to find good music while roaming the net.

Contigo, I'm a long-time (since 1972) English fan of Santana and this is the first I've heard of this track. Thank you SO much for sharing this truly beautiful soulful arrangement. And is there any more from this show that you have, please? Thx again, Tony

I think it's great Santana covered this wonderful song, but as it got going, I was a little disappointed in their arrangement, or lack thereof. If he would've picked it up earlier in the tune, jammed out a bit, then brought it back down (or not) for some more vocals, but it seemed it got a bit repetitious....
@GuildF404 жыл бұрын
I've seen Santana live really fantastic , I did not see JM sadly. Musically and vocally I find this cover pretty weak. No offence to anyone but "I don't want to know about Evil" does not need those riff's plus the vocals never really punched out. Just an opinion.
