The keyboardist and vocalist on most of their hits, "Gregg Rolie" had just as much to do with creating this band as Carlos. They used the name 'Santana' because they thought it sounded good. Gregg Rolie went on to start his second 'Hall of Fame' band Journey several years later. Gregg Rolie is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice!

This song introduced me to Latin music. I think that for a lot of Anglos "Oye Como Va" did the same. Thank you Santana AND Tito Puente.

Nothing beats the original Santana band line-up. Schon and Escovedo joined later. The line-up at this concert is the same one that plays on the first two albums ("Santana" and "Abraxas").

Santana has guitar sound that is unmistakable. Few ever achieve that type of distinction as he has. Special shout out to Greg Rolie, who sang most of Santana's hits, along with most of Journey's hits prior to Steve Perry. If only the two of them could have styed together, just image the incredible music they would have created.

It's really hard to grasp how groundbreaking it was for a band that is singing in a language other than English to get as big as they did. Ritchie Valens was able to do it but died before he could really have as big an impact as he should have. Santana proved that if the music is really great people will sing along even if they have no idea what they are singing
