@@othello106 Actually, I believe the entire album features guest performers. Santana wrote the music and the guest vocalists wrote the lyrics. It was a truly diverse group of performers representing a wide variety of musical styles...with Santana's unmistakable sound being the one constant on the album.

I went to a Santana concert, about halfway through their set I looked at the back of the stage and saw a man wearing blue jeans with a guitar sneak in, plug in his guitar and started jamming. I told my friends Eric Clapton just joined the band, everybody thought I was crazy. 3 songs later Carlos said "I'd like to introduce my friend that stopped by to jam with us, Mr. Eric Clapton. That was so awesome, they did some of Clapton's great songs and Santana's songs. Eric and Carlos side by side making their guitars sing.

Rob Thomas was actually a far bigger name (as lead singer for Matchbox 20) than Santana was at the time this came out. This was a huge comeback album for Carlos, with different singers featured throughout the album.

Went from The Monkees into Steppenwolf, Hendrix, and Sabbath in very short time. When this came out, the current generation knew nothing of Santana, and Rob Thomas was big. Of course older people knew all about Santana, but I didn't think that required an explanation. Saying "at the time" should have been enough. Of course Santana was listed first. It was his album, with different artists featured throughout.

Santana's music was always played on the rock stations when I lived in Los angeles. the radio station KISS actually used to be a rock station back in the '70s & maybe thru the 80s. Carlos Santana was born in Mexico.

Carlos Santana has been making music since the 1960's , he preformed at the original Woodstock concert. I don't believe he has ever sung on any record he made. This record supernatural was the first time he had won a Grammy award in all those years
