Those shots that you hear are shotguns from duck hunters all across Lake Marion. Santee State Park isn't far from the blowout (where the Congaree River dumps into the lake) and its a great spot to duck hunt. I've hunted there many times! My wife and I are in Lexington, SC and we are looking at getting our first RV soon. I've been enjoying the videos of your travels around the state!

As one of the other comments mentions, all the shooting is the duck hunters. The season opens around the thanksgiving holiday every year.

That's a crazy state park with the giant camp store and nice wifi lounge! Great place, need to go there. Had to watch this one a second time, making our list.

I hope we go back sometime - since it was Thanksgiving, we had to spend a day away from the park, so we never got around to the section of the park with the sinkholes (a natural feature there). We wanna see that sometime.

Yeah! Down Macon direction, if memory serves. I think I've seen you guys hiking in your videos, so check out Paris Mountain SP over in Greenville (our previous trip video) - that place has LOTS of different trails of varying degrees of difficulty. We'll show everybody our hike of the Santee SP trail in our video next week.
