Great review Tom, always good to see... And if you need to put an ad in front of the video - so be it... if a little extra income can make sure you can continue doing reviews - then that's welcome... Looking forward to hopefully be able to send you a prototype review request in the future. Have a good day!

"Pedro" looks like he wandered off the cover of a steamy romance novel.

What are you talking about? As long as the ads are there, Dicetower gets paid by those supplying the ads. Doesn't matter if you block the ads or not. Only if the ads are removed, does he not get paid. If the ads were skippable, he'd get much less paid, because the company supplying the ads would know everyone just skip them, and therefore wouldn't offer to pay as much. Some online newspapers alternate between skippable and non-skippable ads, and they get less from those providing skippable ads.

I've both emailed Gryphon Games and asked the Gryphon representative about replacing the pieces and have heard nothing at all. The Gryphon representative said he would forward my request to customer service. Somehow I'm doubtful I'll ever hear anything. I am not happy with my Santiago De Cuba experience and would rather that I had not bought the game. There is a chasm in quality between the components in Santiago De Cuba and Pastiche.

One of the things I noticed about Santiago De Cuba was the poor quality cardboard. I tore four 2 point victory points and one 3 point victory point and one 3 money. I own 130+ games and never had any trouble punching out the others. There were at least 2 of them where it looked like the cardboard was separating from the middle. The game is pretty good, but the closing of the store fronts became overbearing. It is one that my wife and I kind of like and wouldn't ask to play a whole lot.

There's no clickable ads on TV, my man. The way ads work, is that you see the product advertised, and are supposed to be compelled to purchase that product. They get paid for having ads activated before/after their videos. A KZbin-channel should not be responsible for how many people click on an ad, as it is not the owners of that channel who have made that ad/commercial, so they have nothing to do with it - nothing to do with how attractive it is, etc.

Yes, because that solves the problem if Tom doesn't get ANYTHING from it when doing it that way... I think the best way could have been if the ads were skippable...

Seems very similar to Puerto Rico in theme and gameplay

Good post. I use Firefox with ad-blocker and have no problems. But some people, like RayfromAustria are Drama Queen Prima Donas who simply want other people listen to them complain- it's all about attention.

Not really for other people, I thought Tom would mind that this step of introducing these ads might put off some viewers, that's all!

Looks really cool though!

Don't they earn money by "clicks" from these kind of ads instead of them just being "watched" ?

I realize I can get tons of reviews without nagging ads?

It seems you're the one getting pointlessly outraged now. Resorting to an ad-hominem, just because I don't condone even more ads? Classy!

Ad-hominem? I thought it was an accurate description from over here.

Sigh. You realize that... oh, never mind.

OK. You forced my hand: 1) KZbin has got to make money somehow. You ever heard that thing about a free lunch? 2) It can be blocked by a simple ad-blocker, available on nearly all browsers. 3) Only sad, lonely people get pointlessly outraged about 15-second ads in front of 10 minutes of otherwise free video. HULK CRY!!!!

no they don't, if you don't like it just leave

Unskippable ads in front of EVERY video now, Tom? No thanks, I think I'll unsubscribe!
