Hi John Merry Christmas. When I am threading pulleys and blocks I add some glue to the end and rub it between my fingers to make a straight hard point which makes threading easier.

Fascinating work, John. Congratulations! I have always been fascinated by the woodens ships of the past, and your models managed to amaze me even more! Since you do seem to be an expert on the subject, can you recommend me any books or sources where I could learn more about ships and navigation? Something that tells, for example, the essential parts of the ships; their proper names, like the deck and such. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much Yuri!!! Unfortunately i don't know any books. I have learned everything i know about ships from the instructions and a little search over the internet during the years i make models.

Thank you very much Thomas!!! It's main use is to pass a thread through a needle's eye. I bought that at my local store for fabrics and threads.

These models have a lot of work. Up to this point i am working on it for 5 and a half months. You'll have to pay some thousands to someone to make one for you, or you can pay some thousands to buy one that someone has already build.
