Hi Carrie and Brian, I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. I enjoy them each Saturday morning. My wife and I are approaching retirement and are looking forward to a similar lifestyle to what you're doing in a few years. You do an excellent job of conveying pertinent information in an entertaining way. I appreciate Brian's sense of humor (corny as it may be at times) and Carrie's very pleasant disposition. I'm inspired and encouraged by how affordable seeing the world can be. Hopefully you will still be doing this in a few years and I can buy you a beer somewhere along the way. Please keep the videos coming. I look forward to watching each Saturday. James

We got our quad delivered to the airport for when we arrived. Then the two of us with one bag each went straight to the accomodation on the quad. We spent 160€ for four days.. no taxis, no buses, no waiting.. and our accommodation was out of town a bit up the mountain (great view and was cheaper then staying in any of the towns). Then the quad people picked up the quad from us when we were leaving, we drove to the airport, they took it from there, to it was amazing!!

My husband and I are really enjoying your videos! You both do a great job delivering information in a clear and concise way and the budget breakdown is extremely helpful. I would love to see you include your meal plan for a week or a clip showing items available in the local grocery store. Obviously it would vary based on the country you’re currently staying in and I’d be interested in seeing what’s available and how you plan around that. We’ll be heading to the Algarve in October for 3 weeks, staying in Carvoeiro and have found your Portugal videos fantastic. Thank you and happy travels!

guys, I really love your videos and the way you travel, not being cheap but very budget conscious. I've been to santorini last September and I may say that renting a car makes a huge difference if staying for a short period, you can explore the whole island in a few days. The volcano tour is very very worth it. Also street food there it's delicious and pretty cheap. I'm willing to move to alicante, that's when I found your videos and follow since then. Keep up with the great work, you guys are great!

Carrie & Brian, thanks for all of your videos, my wife and i enjoy them immensely. You always provide a great deal of useful information from some beautiful locales. One question - do you negotiate your Airbnb costs? We have used the service in a number of spots and your costs are impressively low, well done, we are jealous. One suggestion - it would be helpful to know the general dates for your stays. Thanks!
@BrianandCarrie2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Craig. We do not negotiate our Airbnb costs. This was our first summer of travel, so our Airbnb costs are low because of the time of year and we typically stay for longer than 28 days, which gives us a price break. Great idea on giving our video dates. We have had this request before but sometimes forget to add it to the description. We will get better. 😀 We were in Santorini in March of this year. Hi Nick. You don't have to go to the brewery to get the gear. They sell t-shirts and sweatshirts all over Fira and Oia. The beer is available all over town as well. I just started watching your videos. So what is a normal day/week like for you? It seems that you live very low budget. Do you feel like not having a car you’re missing out on the non-urban area experience says as much? Being able to drive outside and explore the countryside‘s. That’s how I feel like I would need to add a rental car. In addition how are you staying for such an extended period? What type of visa are you on? Plus I need to go find if you’ve got a backstory video of how you got to this spot in your lives.
@BrianandCarrie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Great questions! Our normal day is pretty typical, coffee, news and then normaly out the door to explore our new surroundings. There has been a time that we discussed renting a car for a day or two to get out to the countryside. So yes, we can understand that completely. As far as the visa we do not overstay our visa. We explain that in a new video coming out tomorrow morning along with many other questions we commonly get asked. We do have another video called "Retire Early" that gives a background on how we made the decision to travel the world the way we do. Again, thank you for watching and supporting our channel. Cheers!!

@@BrianandCarrie so I also watch the KZbinr itchy boots and she is always traveling on her motorcycle currently headed towards Alaska from South America and I’m sure it’ll take many months. And you know maybe as a motorcyclist myself maybe a small cheap scooter that would be kind of cool to have. She often takes her bikes into the motels or the rooms where she’s staying to make sure that no one does anything to them. So a small or 2 small little scooters or electric scooters might be kind of cool to have as well even to get you from major city to major city. I’m sure you’ve already thought about that but as I said here back to back and just watched her video it made me think about you guys. Trawling through all of your videos and really enjoying the “how much it cost” content although I am finding the pricing waaaaaay out of date on these earlier ones. I think you got some great prices (I’ve watched just about every one of the cost ones) but now that the world has opened up pricing has gone up considerably and it’s a little depressing. We want to start slow travel in 2025 (combine some long service leave with, savings and some rental income rather than selling our home) We will actually start our trip off as fast travel for the few months before slowing down. Just got to figure out when and where to start.

Prices have gone up post covid for sure. We were in Santorini off-season as well so our price was lower than it could have been. @@BrianandCarrie Since you were there for a decent length of time.... Oia, Fira , or Imerovigli for a wedding? Just the 2 of us... We see many amazing hotels, but some don't have sunset views..any ideas? We like Cavo Tagoo and a few others, but hard to tell if they offer the sunset. Some face the Caldera and have communicated back it's not a good sunset view.

Hi again!! We would suggest Oia. It is the most picturesque of them all and is known for its sunsets!! Congratulations!!!
