@N D Yes, 3 weeks would be enough to see pretty much every attraction, hike, and historical site and do several tours too.

I stayed in Akrotiri away from the crowds. Fairly cheap and really nice. I’d recommend hiring a scooter or a car for getting around the island

How is Santorini in October? Is is dead there at that time?
@SantoriniDaveHQ2 жыл бұрын
Not dead at all. Everything is open and humming for the duration of October.

We are a couple in our 40s. We like nice evening meals maybe a bit of atmosphere on an evening. Torn between Kamari and Perissa. Where would you suggest ?
@SantoriniDaveHQ3 жыл бұрын
Perissa has much better restaurants and the beach road lends itself to long evening walks. Kamari has its charms too but does feel more touristy.

Oh christ all of those people packed like sardines just watching the sunset oh my god nope no way.
@SantoriniDaveHQ3 жыл бұрын
Yep, not for everyone. (I find the sunset gatherings sorta fun and festive to be honest.) But the crowds are easy to avoid if you want to. It's a big island and lots of space to watch the sunset if you want to be on your own.

@@SantoriniDaveHQ I’m trying to understand the island, I’ve never been, I don’t think I’m fit enough to be honest, it seems very hilly and lots of steps to tackle, so help me out here will you? You can stay in the more popular parts that are more touristy I’m thinking they are the villages that are at the highest part of the island, more densely packed with hotels and people OR at the bottom of the island where space is plenty and hotels are further apart the flatlands if you like? But if I choose to stay at the bottom on the flatlands then I have to get a cable car to the top? I’m confused about driving round the island, how can you? And if you can are you able to drive into the small villages at the top? Any info would be a big help.
@SantoriniDaveHQ3 жыл бұрын
@@ventibreeze6648 You have it half-right. There are villages on the caldera cliff and then villages near the beaches (flatlands, as you call them). But these are on opposite sides of the island and you get between the two areas by car or bus, not by cable car. The cable car goes from the caldera clifftop to the Old Port at the base of the caldera, but there are no hotels at the Old Port. It's used only for boat tours and cruise transfer.
