thank you for the demo, of all crash bars these look like they provide the best protection.

Hey Lucky, Finally got my Santoro bag guards installed today on my 2019 CVO Road Glide. I am extremely pleased with the result and as you stated it is a great product and I was inspired to do this job by your video. I had to wait 3 months to get the tube assembly's from HD due to the virus, but it's finally complete. Thanks and take care...….

Been running these on my 16 performance bagger build streetglide for a few years now. Still dig em. Only issue I had is the lower mount tab for the bars would bang into the swingarm on the first set I bought on full bump due to the mount tab hanging way down (13 " Progressives) Mike ground down the tab and I put another powdercoated swingarm on. 2nd time it gave some more clearance, but still had some contact issues at full bump. Looks like those have the same droopy tabs, keep an eye on em. Ive since gone with 14" Ohlins and problem gone (longer shock length). Seemed to be more the right side than left. Didnt buy the separate HD lowers. Just hit em with a grinder and cut em off. No need to have to spend $$ to buy a separate set. Super quick and easy to trim the ones you have. Just my two cents. Good video!

Lucky.. Good Video.. have a question, could you have just cut the bar and slide new crash bar over and not take apart the back end??
@LuckysLair2 жыл бұрын
Yep, you can do that too.

Did you notice the sliders are not the same length? Trying to figure out which ones go low, and which ones go on top. If you know, can you let me know?
@LuckysLair2 жыл бұрын
I just walked out and measured em. I put the 2 1/2" inch long sliders down low and the 2" up high.

Where did you get the bag supports that work with the crash bars?

I ordered them from the local dealership using the part numbers in the video. Or you can cut the existing ones that came with the bike

Hey there, I'm looking at a set of these for my 2020 RG. I'm curious if you've noticed that your slow speed turning radius has decreased with these when you still had the stock engine guard? I'm trying to decide between these and the OEM bag guards from Harley. I like the look of these, but I don't want to be worried about scraping in every Uturn.
@LuckysLair4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had any issues with tight turns or U-turns. I occasionally go to a parking lot and practice my slow speed maneuvering without any issues. Hope this helps, thanks for watching 😎👍

Great video Lucky, I am considering these for my Road Glide but was wondering if you have had a passenger on since the install, and if the guards interfere at all with the back of their legs like the old Harley guards did?.. Any info would be helpful. Thanks, and keep up the good work...
@LuckysLair4 жыл бұрын
I wondered the same thing, so I sat on the back after the install. It seemed like it would be okay for a rider. Keep in mind I am 6 ft tall with a 32" inseam, but I'd guess it would be okay for shorter folks

I went online to look up their crash bars. It says that for roadglide /street glide you have to cut 4” off the bikes saddlebags guard. I didn’t see that in your video can someone please help me w this ?? Ty in advance

Hey thanks for watching. About two minutes into the video there’s a couple part numbers on the screen. Those are Harley Davidson part numbers for the two bag supports I used. They’re called “2014 & Up” bag supports, they’re basically like the stock supports except with the front mounting bracket already removed. Before that in the video you’ll see the two parts as I laid out all the required stuff on the tarp. At about the 5:50 mark in the video you’ll see me slipping the supports into the crash bar. I didn’t want to risk screwing up the stock part by cutting it up, and I’m in Florida so rusting is a concern after chopping up the part....so I bought the parts that are on the screen and in the description
