Neither is her interpretation real. She and the host outright hate Karna and are hardcore praising arjun Draupadi. Karna in Mahabharat is shown as a positive character only. Nothing is going to change it.

Also this so called author cherry picked verses and is acting as if Karna is negative character and saying 'I am not anti Karna, Vyasa Mahabharat is'. This one verse from Vyasa Mahabharat destroys her argument: """Thus fell that hero who was a Kalpa tree unto those swarms of birds represented by suitors. Solicited by suitors he always said, "I give" but never the words "I have not!" The righteous always regarded him as a righteous person."" -Karna Parva, Section-94, Vyasa Mahabharat. Also her claim that Karna wasn't low caste or casteism didn't exist just to belittle his humiliations are also false. Karna was insulted for his caste in many places, once he even tells Bhishma not to insult him as 'low born' since he has always followed practises or Kshatriyas alone. All in all, it's just another dumb writer with her own interpretation. Not just this, there are also places where Pandavas actions were extremely questionable like Arjun burning Khandiva forest. In actual epic it was basically a genocide of all the innocent naga people and animals in the forest but somehow we aren't supposed to question it. Any person with two brain cells would be shocked at the description of the genocide mentioned in the text but we are still supposed to accept unquestionably like abrahamic faith. She also spoke as if Karna abandoned Duryodhan with gandharvas while in reality Karna destroyed half the Gandharva army and was overcome with illusion, all his weapons and chariot was destroyed, etc. That's when he retreated and the so called gandharvas were themselves sent by Arjuna's father Indra to humiliate Kauravas and protect Pandavas. Arjun also did the same thing when Dwarka robbers attacked but she wouldn't mention that. I would only suggest, read actual epic. You will find such KZbin channels or authors everywhere. This particular author even seems to totally take her knowledge from Quora. She also said Satyaki defeated Karna but it never happened. As per BORI CE, on 14th day Karna made Satyaki satyaki chariotless. Then the latter got on lord Krishna's celestial chariot and he inturn made Karna chariotless, then Satyaki defeated other kaurav warriors who came there. Karna then got on a new chariot and resumed his fight with Satyaki, how is this defeat? Karna made satyaki chariotless and Satyaki did the same for Karna. These are just some small refutations of her rants against Karna. Even Arjun was defeated by many. Victory and defeat is not constant in war. That's why Mahabharat is realistic but this author has made it into Bollywood masala flick where one hero is undefeated and rest are all villains or side characters.

There are some wrong information in this debate regarding meat eating. There is no meat eating in Mahabharata and Ramayan. Do read sanskrit to hindi translation there is a word in Sanskrit called Maasam, that means fruits inside part....there is no mention of meat or fish at all. All these English translation done by Max Muller and his companions. There are 46 letters in Sanskrit and 26 letters in English. How can someone translate Sanskrit in English. Very well explained and clarified, how its shown in TV series its very different. In the "Suryaputra Karna" series, Arjuna's character is portrayed as less powerful in battle, while the show predominantly highlights Karna's greatness as a warrior.

Great idea - there are Mahabharata books for kids which are fully illustrated and available. One of them is sold by Ramakrishna Matha (you can find them online under the title' Pictorial Mahabharata' ) and another is sold by Amar Chitra Katha. Of course, these editions will vary in terms of the style, story telling, visuals and content. So would love Ami ji to create her own version which is perhaps more authentic and keeping in line with the original version.

@@jojosoni Here they distinguish between nishaad (निषाद) and nishadha (निषध). Nishadha seems to have been a kingdom. Nishaad is a forest dweller/ Hunter tribe sort of. Ekalavya was a nishaad but nala was from Nishadha kingdom. They may however have correlation. See Kingdoms participating in the Mahabharata war nishaad on the Pandava side but nishadha on the Kaurava side.

I think Arjun might be 45 years old when he fought the kurukshetra war. Coz that sounds reasonable as per calculations. Also one thing I wanna say that when she mentioned about the warriors who could defeat keechak, she missed duryodhan and Arjun. TV serials have distorted the image of ashvatthama, Abhimanyu, draupadi, shakuni. Ashvatthama was the only warrior to stalemate Arjun in the Virat war. Ashvatthama saved karna two times from Arjun in the kurukshetra war, otherwise karna would have died on 14th day itself. Satyaki defeated karna two times. Bheem defeated karna five times. Abhimanyu defeated karna once. But there's no doubt that karna was still one of the great warriors of that time. Had he not promised kunti, he could have killed nakul, sahadev and yudhishthir as well without any doubt in the war. Ashvatthama in the mid of war on 17th day, pleaded duryodhan to make peace with Pandavas and live happily thereafter. Ashvatthama on the night of 18th day killed nearly everybody in Pandavas camp which included Draupadi's sons. There's a misconception that they were asleep. That's false. Coz they were awake and fought ashvatthama till death.

There are some wrong information in this debate regarding meat eating. There is no meat eating in Mahabharata and Ramayan. Do read sanskrit to hindi translation there is a word in Sanskrit called Maasam, that means fruits inside part....there is no mention of meat or fish at all. All these English translation done by Max Muller and his companions. There are 46 letters in Sanskrit and 26 letters in English. How can someone translate Sanskrit in English. The most damaging myth his show popularised was the "Andhe ka putra Andha" one. Draupadi never said that. In any scripture or Purana. She wasn't even present when Duryodhana fell, yet people act like she brought the mistreatment she faced later upon herself by saying it. He is the one who made a hero out of Karna, a misogynist and abuser in mahabharata. There are crorers that commend Chopra for his work but the misconceptions he spread need to be pointed out and acknowledged.

Brahmastra is something quite a few warriors had: if one checks Day 14, Dronacharya sent a Brahmastra at Yudisthir, who countered w/ a Brahmastra of his own, and their clash did not have the same effect that Arjun and Ashwatthama's clash did. What Karna was denied was the _Brahmashira_ , and that was what he went to Parashurama about. He even got that, but was cursed w/ forgetting it when it mattered the most. But the real issue here was if that weapon was so lethal that it should never have been used, Drona shouldn't have taught _anyone_ - be it Arjun or Ashwatthama - the use of that weapon

Knowledge is never prohibited in indian culture. Dronacharya had to be very specific in giving bramhastra knowledge when he is 100 percent sure that his deciple is eligible for this knowledge of ultimate destruction. Also if the knowledge is not propagated, it will be vanished in one or two generations.

@@tyagiji94 No, Drona never used the Brahmashira in the war, so had he taught neither Arjun nor Ashwatthama, it would have gone unused. Parashurram made a mistake by teaching it to Drona: being blinded by a hatred of kshatriyas, he decided to teach the one capable Brahmin pupil he had this weapon. He taught Karna as well, but only while he was under the illusion that Karna was a brahmin, and he undid that w/ his curse

The original name of Mahabharat is Jaya which was recited by VedaVyas to Lord Ganesh at Badrikashram. Sage Vaishampayana recited the Mahabharat to Janmejaya as Janmejaya wanted to know the history of his Pandava ancestors and how they established Dharma by defeating Kauravas.

@@roganstone4979 🙏 we are in never ending journey of birth and death due to our intense desires and they are stored in our subconscious. Dropadi in her past life ,desired for the husband of various qualities, capabilities and virtues which were contradictory to each other and can’t be in possession of a single man so she had to marry 5 Pandavas . Similarly if we have two intense desires, one we wish to be a king and another a hermit or saint to enjoy the peace and tranquility then in next birth we will have two lives, one king and another hermit. This is mentioned in Indian scriptures. 🙏🙏🙏

@@the_arung everyone who died in kurukshetra went to heaven, even Dusshasana and Jayadratha. As for Lord Krishna, he went there as part of the strategy to get Karna to not harm the other four Pandavas. Arjuna could handle Karna but he was very much capable of killing Yudhisthira. By telling him the truth and then later via Kunti's visit, they ensured Karna would never harm Yudhisthira. Do you really think if the Lord genuinely wanted him on the throne he would have let him fight and die for the Kauravas? Shri Krishna went to the extent of revealing his glorious self to get Arjuna to fight, he went to the extent of breaking his own oath and almost killing Bhishma on the battlefield. If he really wanted Karna to live he wouldn't have given up in one meeting. The Lord made his opinion of Karna clear in his last words to him as he ordered Arjuna to chop his head off. Please read the Karna Vadha parva and you'll know what he thought of Karna.
