I don't know if anyone else has commented about this but your battop issue may be that you haven't tightened it on the bottom of the lever. Usually with K-levers there's a groove on the bottom of the actual shaft that you use a flathead screwdriver to really tighten it down. you gotta use the screwdriver to turn it one way while using your hand at the battop to tighten it the other. In my experience, it won't come off after unless you un-tighten it the same way. I had to do that with my Alpha N and Knee lever.

if the corners are harder to find on your Alpha N, what you could try is to increase the actuator size. That's a very easy way to help with finding corners. However, that being said, there's nothing wrong with a JLF. They're great. And after personally trying a ton of arcade levers, I've concluded that the best arcade lever is the one that you're used to using. That will always be the best lever to use.

I just got mine a month ago. This may be the very first video (In english) about the Alpha N on youtube! First of all thank you for the video. This lever comes with Omron switches which are amazing since they are VERY soft and responsive, that helps a lot if you play 2D games. I tried some Gersung switches on it, just to test the feel and i really liked that back and forward dash was very easy and natural with the Gersung. Overall is a matter of preference, but i feel like the Omron switches are better as a "Jack of all trades" and i will continue using those. BTW, i never had an issue with the battop unscrewing. Bad luck man!

Thanks for the handcam for the JLF. I plan on only using the JLF stock because that's how the OGs played in the arcades back in the day. Just like Ryan Hart. He had the same attitude as me.

I have the IST ALPHA 49S, and it was pretty difficult for me to use. I couldn't find the diagonals (keep in mind, im not someone who has had a ton of arcade stick experience.) The Knee Lever NEO is a nice mix between korean and japanese lever.

As a long time Tekken player and a long time Korean lever user, Korean levers are superior to Japanese because of how rough you can be for speed in execution of all inputs. My problem with the JLF is that whenever I try to wavedash or backdash on either side I end up accidentally jumping because I'm trying to execute the in put super fast. The other pro of Korean levers is that the gromet allows you to return to neutral faster so you can keep inputting wavedashes and backdashes faster. I use the Crown Helpme 309 lever with the full collar and I can feel the difference in execution when it comes to the feel of the levers that don't have the full collar. The full collar of Korean levers have a wider range of motion compared to ones without it, so a stiffer gromet is needed to get the same feeling. There are definitely pros and cons to both levers, but it all boils down to personal preference and what you're comfortable playing with.
@imangolix72353 ай бұрын
@@julienFPSSS i 100% agree that korean levers are better. Even if i do prefer the JLF, i just play better on the korean lever in most aspects of the game such as blocking, sidestepping, and micro dashes. Im curious about full collars and low collars. However, i do not have the commitment to drill a hole to my stick. The main reason why i went with an Alpha series lever is because of its flat collar for ease of compatibility. I wonder if there is a japanese lever out there that has the same return to neutral speed as a korean lever, that would probably be my end game.

You can still BD cancel and everything else on Japanese sticks. It’s not that big of a deal. The best Kazuya player in the world uses a Japanese lever. The great thing about the JLF is how customizable it is. Sooooo many options. I also love seimitsus. Wonderful levers but not as customizable as JLF’s and don’t fit in all cases.

After a few weeks adjusting to the stick, movement will feel quicker and snappier. Returning to neutral is so much faster with klevers. What grommet do you use? I used the knee grommet (softest 25st) and changed to the blue one. It feels much rougher when moving the stick slowly. The white one is buttery smooth

My IST Alpha N came absolutely messed up. There are massive gaps in the enclosure where the grommet is supposed to fit snugly, and I've tried a lot of grommets to find one that fits the shape. As a result the tension at various points feels extremely uneven. I really can't believe they messed up so badly on something that's supposed to be machined delrin. It's not like it's cheap either, so I don't want to risk getting another one and having it turn out just as bad. I had a 49s a while ago that was pretty good, but I gave it to a friend. Mad disappointed.
@imangolix72354 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Yeah the Alpha N is not cheap at all and I was considering if I should just get a 47c or 49s. Just went with this because someone was selling it for a decent deal. But I cant help but feel that I probably wouldve been better off with the 47c or 49s. Hope you get a decent lever in the future!

@@imangolix7235 Yeah it's a shame because consistency issues are what generally plague korean levers, the most consistent ones I have are the Cool Bear levers which sadly aren't in production anymore, and the Fujin 3s, both of which are quite pricey. If you're happy with the quality control on yours then the problem with switch feedback is easily solved. The Gersung A3HM switches have a similar tension to JLF switches and actuate more quickly than the IST Kalih ones. I generally use those in lower tension levers because lack of actuation feedback can be a problem there.
