Sanyo CTP7608 CRT TV Check over and Service

I have a look at this 1975-1978 era Television I picked up second hand with an Ultrasonic remote control.

I worked on many Sanyo TVs with this chassis back in the early 80s. My parents bought a 26" console version when colour first arrived here in 1973. It was a single rotary tuner for VHF only as we didn't get UHF until many years later when digital TV arrived. The set had doors that folded out and could be closed to cover the entire front of the screen when not in use. We had it until 1995 when dad decided it was time to replace it. The "One button color" button on yours was the AFT control on ours. The tuning for each channel was a concentric knob within the channel change knob.

That would have the earlier but similar 73P chassis which still had a delta gun tube. I have one of those with the double ended cabinet but not the doors that I will look at as soon as I can make some room.

@@StevesElectronicRepairShop I did remember at one stage what the chassis was but since forgotten. The model number of the set was 5C670.

Back when TV's were also a piece furniture and not just a TV.

Usually covered in various ornaments sitting on doilies. Also made a good stand for the new TV after the old wooden one died.

@@StevesElectronicRepairShop I remember doing house calls for TVs in the 80s and seeing one set sitting on top of another set and sometimes a third set on top of that. They just kept stacking them up!

@@sw6188 Seemed to be most common with older people that couldnt move the big old one easily. At least it saved some going to the dump.

Can you fix my IBM p200 monitor. it's 20 inches from 1995. it turns on but the image takes like 20 minutes to show up and then after a few hours the image starts twitching. i was told it needs new caps.
