I love how this abridged series sprinkles in social commentary about the poor working conditions of the video game industry and how the toxicity of gaming communities can easily get out of hand (Kuradeel’s blood lust, Kayaba’s frustration with not being able to please his audience, the riot in Colonia, Schmidt’s harassment from his followers making him a nervous wreck, Grimlock’s misogyny, etc).

After watching the actual show, I understand how that AI deciding to pop in and be their daughter shaped Kirito's whole life from then on. He goes into studying AI and programming in an effort to save his daughter and put his little family back together. Even going to the point where he starts making cameras and stuff so Yui can in some way interact with the real world.

At one point kirito is recognized as part of the assault team. Those are the few players on the front lines, that explore and defeat bosses. Many players just wait until they unlock a floor and teleport there, to set up shop etc, like Tiffany.

I just remembered that in the anime, Kirito spent an uncomfortably long time cupping multiple feels before he was sent flying, the abridged cut that down to like two seconds, and honestly it made the scene flow more naturally than the original

Corvach is the guy from episode 2 that gave that amazing strategy for the first boss. The leader of laughing coffin is the guy who saw jesus at the end of episode 2. Any time after the rabbit, if you see kirito eating listen closely he mentions how bad the food taste.

Kiritos personality is based on what happened to him in the outside world (mentioned by rosalia), his cousin bully's and makes fun of him at every given opportunity. So it gave him that complex where anything that he is remotely good at here will bully others. Asuna has an overbearing and controlling family. Everyone of her actions, even sex with kirito, was used to remain in control over the people she wants in her life.

Little background bit, when they recorded the lines for balls where he's muttering and crying they couldn't get his actor, dizzasta, to get a take quite the way they wanted. So they asked him to say something random and he chose to do an impression of Watto, the guy who owned Anakin Skywalker and his mom, from Star Wars Ep. 1 saying, "No pod is worth two slaves.
