TBF, Kirito was adopted into the family and had no motivation to take away the Family Legacy that belonged to them. Both Kazuto and Suguha held promising potential as Kendo students but Kazuto still felt like an outsider in the family despite literally growing up with Suguha like a real brother. So he sought out other avenues of interest / hobbies until he found himself as a Beta Tester for SAO. Suguha then started resenting Kazuto becoming distant and thinks that it was her fault that Kazuto retreated into something like a "hikikomori" because she kept pushing for him to return to kendo. But yeah, let the critics focus on the unrequited incestuous affection Suguha has for her 'technically distant' cousin but was raised as a sibling.

Her love/crush/whatever you want to call it, is via a unfortunate set of circumstances (that started to develop after kirito started playing SAO and she found out they were cousins instead of actual siblings), compared to the countless anime with the "i love you onii-chan" fetishes we see a lot, this is not even on the scale, i'll even go out on a limb and say that Suguha had the Nightingale effect during kirito's hospitalization, and with all effects it goes away after the patient doesn't need any more caring.

@@sammydray5919 from the backstory of how Kirito became a beta tester for SAO. He found out he was adopted, which served to lower his motivation to keep up his Kendo practice. He then started getting an interest in computers from their mother's job which became his own outlet as a hobby but lead to him quitting Kendo, which he was severely punished by their grandfather but Suguha intervened taking all responsibility away from Kirito. Suguha became the inheritor for their Kendo dojo while Kirito ended up in a semi coma and was trapped in SAO for 2.5 years, which is when Suguha then found out that Kirito was adopted, which then lead to all sorts of feelings and emotions to flood her while Kirito was trapped.

So how is Kirito struggling taking them out? The reason im asking is because: 1.he has the same stats that he did when in sao(made sure to check if it was changed or not, it was not) 2.he was high level (they were on floor 75 and he was one of the best players guessing that because they took the risk to bring him along to get to the next floor[the risk being him starting a war against the cat again, which he did]) 3. Its mostly filled with role players. 4.he has had years to get levels most player have had a a few months. So i am kinda wondering how he is struggling. Also springans were all killed because they tried to get their friends to talk...yeh that makes sense.

From what I know of the OG and from the abridged, I'm pretty sure it's 1. Him getting used to fighting in the air and 2. Him having to adjust to the swords ability to phase through blocks. Also, I'm pretty sure it's implied that ALO was already up and running while SAO was still happening, otherwise Oberon couldn't have transferred Asuna into ALO. I'm pretty sure in the og anime it's implied Suguha started playing ALO to feel closer to Kirito while he was in SAO.

The 'sewer handy' joke is because Suguha and Nagata keep sneaking around to have secret quickies, since Suguha isn't willing to admit she actually likes him - she said that sneaking around doesn't always mean doing something wrong, which he should know because they have secret meetings to hook up IRL, and Nagata pointed out that the guys he was following weren't sneaking into the sewers for sex. 'Sewer handies' was just the funniest way to phrase that.
