They can fix this if they make each hero customizable. So if I'm playing as Kirito, then Kirito is the default avatar, but then he can be customized as any appearance you want but with the same skillset and weapon as Kirito, so we are not going to face problems where there are 3 Kirito on the same party.

This honestly looks really good. It's giving me Phantasy Star Universe online vibes, which is very rare to find in 2024. This is the type of online content I wish Granblue Re:link had. If this is done right, and updated in a timely manner I could easily see myself playing this for a long while. I have never touched any of the SAO games, and have only watched the original arc and some of the gun arc, but I've always loved the world and characters. You guys should just make your own video games then 😂 or play MMOs or something. Having self inserts to play as just ruins narrative purposes, it only makes sense when it has heavy multiplayer elements. In this case though even though it is a multiplayer game the emphasis is to play the character and it's roster like Tekken or something like that. Having character customization defeats that purpose. You're supposed to play as the characters from SAO, also why play a SAO game if you're not interested in the Sao characters? Go play a different game. Don't buy it. Also they let you customize the characters anyway and change their outfit so that's good enough. Also for comment above mine the purpose of wukong is to know about his story and his point of view so it don't make sense you don't play as him.

One thing I am absolutely hoping is they give us the option to play as the different avatars that the SAO cast used throughout the games. Didn't like Kirito's duel-wielding playstyle but absolutely enjoyed his Sword 'n' Gun combo? Make his GGO avatar playable. Liked duel-wielding but much preferred flying over being grounded? Make his ALO avatar playable too.

The only thing holding back this game for being the most perfect Sao game for me is not having character creation. they don't even need to have full-on character creation it can simply have a character that you can create and then copy the fighting style of already existing character you own and it's character level is the same as your player level and it's passive abilities are dependent based on the characters that you leveled up that way your incentivized to keep leveling up other characters to make the most perfect AC

I don't wanna play the other characters in the show (lost taste for the show over the years), I do not want to reskin and rename Kirito and play his role on the story, I just want to make my own character and play alongside the other characters. I'm definitely getting this 100%. The last one of these games I actually truly enjoyed was Fatal Bullet because the main character was your character and not just a version of Kirito plus the systems in Fatal Bullet was much better than any other SAO game. Just looking at this, I feel like this would be one step closer in getting a game like this where once again the main character is the character you make. Perhaps make it like Xenoverse and let your character copy a skill from whichever established SAO character how Xenoverse is with it's masters to learn from. Regardless, I'll definitely be playing the NT when it's out. Kind of wish they'd make an custom SAO game loosely based on the events of the actual SAO story like Fatal Bullet. One can dream but this one is pretty close.

sounds like an SAO skin for Granblue Relink which for me is a good thing, I hope they make the combat smooth and fun like in Granblue Relink and Wuthering Waves because in SAO Lycoris, the combat felt stiff AF! EDIT: - is the story mode centered around Kirito or some new protagonist? - compared to SAO Hollow Realization, SAO vs Accell Word, SAO Lycoris, Grablue Relink, Genshin, Wuthering Waves, which one of those games does the combat compare the most? - is it fully open world like GTA, Genshin, Wuthering Waves? segmented "open world" like Tales of Arise? or stage based like Granblue Relink? - will there be NO gacha mechanics, like RNG stuff that limit the characters you can unlock unless you spend more? - is it a 4 character team game? like 1 player 3 AI like in most RPGs? or only human player characters similar to MMORPGs? - also, are there gonna be fanservice skins, dating modes and bed scenes like in the older SAO games? either way, it's looking like it might like be the best SAO game so far

Based on what’s been said, the story is from multiple viewpoints that eventually converge. So Kirito will still be a focus, but along with other characters. Combat is similar to Relink, but more freeform. The characters in SAOFD have unique mechanics, but their kits feel more situational and reactionary. In Relink attacks were neatly tied to a character's core mechanics, so it felt like each action had more of a deliberate purpose. The SAOFD characters still feel a lot smoother to play than other SAO games though, they’re fun. Still not sure how things are handled in the main story, but will most likely be stage based like Relink. They made a statement to say that there’s nothing like loot boxes in the game. Characters will most likely just unlock as you play, haven’t seen anything stating otherwise yet. The multiplayer mode in this game seems to be only online, not sure if single player mode will have the quest system. In single player you’ll have 3 other AI party members that you can freely switch between (4 total in team), but online it seems like it depends on the quests and matchmaking status. Empty slots get filled by AI in co-op and Raids, but Free Quests seem to be more flexible. You can be solo or in a party of 4 in that mode, with up to 20 players outside of your party just roaming the map. I need to find out if your other party members can be AI in Free Quests though. I haven’t seen any new skins yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were fanservice skins. This game seems to be following the manga and anime timeline though, so unsure if the usual bed scenes will be there. But the previous game characters seem to be coming as DLC, so it could be possible.

- Kirito is the center and he is the main focus - we don't know that yet dude the game hasnt even came out yet to get a feel of it and properly compare it to similar games. Although it does seem like it's most similar to Granblue Relink. - im pretty sure it's stage based, or tiny maps and dungeons leading to a stage. - no gacha stuff, but definitely rng mechanics when it comes to farming and grinding to make your character stronger, like Relink. - it's a 20 person cross platform PVE death match game. You get separated in 5 parties of 4 people, all of those could be other players or if there's not enough real players some of them will be controlled by NPCs. You fight with the other parties to see who gets best performance during the fight. - its a SAO game, tons of fanservice, costumes, etc. they already even have fanservice outfits for people who preordered.

I've been a huge DIMPS fan because of how I've been into Sonic Battle and their Advance series. But besides that, I've also been into Freedom Wars which is getting a Remaster. And then I've also been playing almost all of the SAO games from Infinity Moment up to AWvsSAO before DIMPS took over. I'm probably only skipping the Alicization games, Integral Factor and Variant Showdown. Fatal Bullet has been with my collection of comfort games but then as you also said I want them to merge the past SAO games, and DIMPS did a great job to create a Lost Song-ish Combat and Flight System with Fatal Bullet gameplay on GGO Avatars. The Kagemitsu G4 Animations in Fatal Bullet made me want to see a Sword-Base game and here it is, combined with different gamestyles. DIMPS know their stuff.

Infinity Moment: The OG. Hollow Fragment: Expansion + remake of Infinity Moment. Lost Song: A Breath of Fresh Air, where movement is not restricted as an ability. Hollow Realization: A more complicated Hollow Fragment. Accel World x SAO: Basically a DLC of Lost Song. Fatal Bullet: The Best formula of a SAO game where spamming sword swings is optional and you are not Kirito. Alicization Lycolis: An even more complicated Hollow Realization. Last Recollection: Apparently, it wasn't the last. It's basically a simplified Alicization Lycoris Fractured Day Dream: Mixed Bag of previously released games.

Ngl it didn’t look that fun from the videos but doing the raids and missions online were hella fun!! For the first time I felt like I was playing the game from the anime. Not having created characters is a big bummer but the gameplay is very fun!

No character creation this time, but there's always the chance that they could bring the Fatal Bullet MC / Arfasys back as DLC. Would be nice if we could customise them if it happened.

I was also a fan of Fatal Bullet, and quite literally no other SAO game lol. Fell off of the anime after the first season of Gun Gale(did it have more seasons? I have no idea. That's how out of the loop I am with this anime at this point) so I barely remember nor know half of these characters shown. One of the things that caught my attention with Fatal Bullet was being able to make your own character. While I'm sad to see that's not an option here, I gotta admit everything else looks pretty interesting so far. Dunno if I want yet another online game to take up my time, but I'll give it a shot this weekend. If I find a character I'm really into then I might just go ahead and hop fully on in.

Yeah, seems like it's in a rough spot at the moment. Some people that played the previous games didn't even know there was a new game coming. Maybe the new Anime will give it a bit of a boost.
