My first gacha game I played before I went into high school, I even think this is probably one of the main reasons I got so into anime as well. Farewell, old friend, even though I stopped after freshman year, the small amount of time I spent playing with you was well worth the time.

Honestly this is kinda scary. I first discovered this game about a month after its release. I was a freshman in high school? I think? I was bored of console games, they weren’t doing it for me anymore. I recently discovered anime, my first ever actually, Sao. My friend had recommended it to me calling it a masterpiece and was so excited about it he told me the whole premise of the show which I slowly remembered as I watched what he said happen in the show. I binged the whole thing. S1 and 2. No sleep. Yes gun gale and Yuki arc too which was boring to me at the time. By the end of it I was left wanting more. Not anime just sao. It was my first anime ever after all. I had this jittery rush that I’ve only felt at that time but heck was it amazing. FF from end of 8th grade back to freshman year. I discover this game. A mobile game. Not just that. It was freaking sao. I wasn’t expecting much but boy when I tell you every day I got home it was straight to this game b4 bed I mean time would go by so fast. I would enjoy grinding col. Enjoy grinding crystals. Enjoy scouting over and over and making new accounts to get all the units I’ve wanted. 4 star Skill connect Kirito, black swordsman Kirito, with both their respective blades that belong them free to play no money spent. Not like I had any to spend at the time but my moms lol. My first account I think was cheerleader yui with the event “backed by the cheer of my daughter” I tried so hard to get top 3 (literal hours and days) but the pay to win cucks got me and I landed 4th. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun on a video game in my life compared to this. Every ranking event was something to look forward to and grind for. I would never get tired of my phone burning in my hand or grinding for nights on end and during school when I could. I went through a lot of chargers tho. Figuring out the bosses attack patterns, shaving off just a few more seconds to land the better spot in the rankings was always a thrill. The game was a masterpiece. Super difficult (especially the griffin one with yuna at the time) with only 4 stars with basic switching but rewarding with the grind. Soundtrack was upbeat and always had me coming back. Though the lack of diamonds seemed to be a problem for me back then. Didn’t have a job or cash to spend since I was a full time high school student. I farmed everything and would be waiting daily for new stuff to pop up. The story unlock ones were always annoying. I had to keep grinding the same boss until I unlocked a new story which sucked. Or meet the special mission requirements which was a blast. Also the introductions to guilds, heck I was in one and still am in the groupchat which hasn’t said a word since a year or 2 ago. Maybe more. It wasn’t until 5 stars were first introduced when I laid down my moms cash on the game. 5 star kiri and Asuna? And their animations?! Hoooolyyyyyyy. Yeah I think I spent 100+ and somehow never got chewed out or maybe she never found out. But I actually think I glitched my Apple ID thing since she switched to a new bank yet the one on my phone was still working with the old card ( didn’t wanna risk it any further tho). It wasn’t until midway through when they started introducing 6 starts when I quit the game because it became less about boss attack patterns and skill. It was a simple contest of how lucky your pulls were/how much money you put in to get crystals that made lvl 100 units to smoke out the boss by spamming SS3s and staggering the boss to death without parrying or learning the attack patterns. Point is this game has a very special place in my heart. But what I don’t understand is why they would shut it down and get rid of all our accounts. All the time, effort, money invested into this game for it to all be gone? All the “whales” meaning money spenders or pay to wins put in at least thousands and now the game is gone? It’s like the whole thing was a big scam. They took our money, our time, everything and we got nothing back in the end. Just memories which honestly doesn’t completely suck but if I can’t even go back to my party to check out all my units and stories I unlocked. What the hell was it all for? I redownload the game today just to be met with a frozen load screen? And comments saying all my saved account codes are meaningless? Cmon Bandai…..you gotta fix this….I need to see everything again…..it can’t end like this….the best mobile game gone? No…please bring it back 😰😰😭😭

I played this back in 2017/18 lost all my 4* and decided to quit. Came back with the introduction of 5* but quit soon nevertheless. It wasnt until 6* I Grinded the game alot. Well now all those countless hours came to an end. 😭

Offline mode has 60 characters most are 6 star,all at max,weapons at 5 star, same with accessories and armor and no more scout,multi,guild,all characters you earn before shutdown don't get transferred, no more rewards after battle, automatic col but useless

I literally just downloaded it again on Nov 28 after 3 long years, I logged on and thought something was wrong with my game lmao till I read the notice of it shutting down and I almost cried- remember I said "almost" well time to get back to sulking

Hi I need to have an outside point of view, connecting to Sao md we have the choice with some character selected by the game. Would you have access to all your characters in your account?

Unfortunately, it’s a no. We’re left with the pre selected units. In the announcement from the offline mode game it says we cannot transfer our end-of-service data (our online accounts and in turn our characters and weapons) to offline mode.
