Saoirse Ronan on "Brooklyn"

Actress Saoirse Ronan joins AOL BUILd to discuss her latest film, “Brooklyn,” in which she plays young, hopeless romantic Ellis Lacey. The 1950s American immigrant story features Ronan as a young Irish woman torn between two lovers on opposite sides of the Atlantic. With a polite, handsome man back home and a brash Italian-American making his way into her heart abroad, Lacey has to choose both her country and her courter. Enniscorthy is nowhere near Dublin and with that accent she has to be from Dublin. How can you have an accent from a place you're not from unless you're putting it on??

She grew up near Dublin. But she's stated several times that she had to do a different Irish accent for Brooklyn since it wasn't set near Dublin (the Ireland scenes of course). She's amazingly brilliant at accents. Watch Lady Bird for example.
