It's wild how they're considered "underrated" nowadays. I remember bands like Thursday, Thrice, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, etc., were HUGE when I was a teenager and now they're called "underrated." These bands deserve as much love nowadays as they did 20 years ago.
@tracehorn90745 ай бұрын
@@stuckintheinbetween I was right there with you back in the day, and I'd say even back then they were fairly underrated. Slightly within their own genre, but definitely on a world scale
@Derek_KeenanКүн бұрын
@@stuckintheinbetween i mean sure they might have been huge to us, but as far as the general public goes, most people wouldn't even recognize the name saosin. they only knew fall out boy and and _maybe_ panic at the disco, lol
@stuckintheinbetweenКүн бұрын
@@Derek_Keenan Nah, I used to go to a lot of shows back in the day and they were huge. Taking Back Sunday was the biggest band at Warped in 2004 with bands like Avenged Sevenfold, NOFX, Rise Against, From First to Last (Skrillex), etc., playing. I remember lots of these bands on the cover of Alternative Press, too. Saosin even appeared in some comedy with Josh Meyers from That 70's Show, Seth Meyers brother. I remember seeing My Chemical Romance open for Avenged Sevenfold at Mr. Smalls and nobody gave af about them despite them becoming one of the bigger bands. The only reason I heard of them was because Geoff from Thursday signed them to his record label, Eyeball Records. Panic at the Disco didn't hit until later. I'm talking around the 2003-2005 timeframe, whereas Panic at the Disco hit at the end of 2005. The Used opened the door to all of these bands. They were the first to really take this kind of music mainstream. The scene was really big at this time. Scene girls and boys were everywhere, I was one of them, lol.
