Thanks. Clear and concise. Just wondering why the settlement rule to the cost center. IMHO it should autogenerate the settlement to the original PP order to allow proper handling f the additional rework cost to be able to show/collect it as a variance to the original PP order.

Since there is no material in the order, the settlement receiver needs to be provided manually. You can use the previous order as a receiver as well.

Order settlement is done against the material being manufactured. Cost center will only receive the actual activity confirmations.

Sir, When we create a rework order with reference to a production order, do we need to run settlement or not? If not, where does the cost of the rework order go? If we want to run settlement for the rework order, how can we do it?

Rework order cannot be created with reference to a production order, instead you can use the production order as settlement receiver.

A rework order is used to correct or repair defective items produced in a standard production order, not to create by-products. why do we have to send the repaired engine to inventory as By product and not the finished good product code 101?

Because the rework order is not created to manufacture a product. It is created to perform a rework/correction on a defect to make the product usable. GR is not possible on a rework order since there is no product in it. That’s why we need to receive the repaired item into inventory as a byproduct.

@@SAPwithIK thanks for your response 🙂 2question are raised. when we want to see the result of operation after the rework scenrio we see that we have for example 9 good engines and 1 by product. but we have in mind that we made 10 good engine including 1 reworked engine. we need to define this type of by product (for rewrok items) previulsy in SAP? 2- does creating by products affect the OEE of operation or Only units that are directly part of the primary output are calculated in quality? for example assume that beside the primary output of operation which is in term of unit we produce a by product in term of liter. how this by product calculated in total production?

Hi IK, I am trying to create a Rework order without a material. I am using an order type which settles to WBS. If I add components, my expectation is that the demand would get generated on Project stock. But this is not happening, demand is getting generated with normal stock. I even tried to change the stock category as 2 in the components tab in the production order, I am getting the error - not possible for MTO. How can I resolve this, I need the demand to be created in Project stock. Any help is much appreciated. I keep following your videos, they are very helpful for me.

@@SAPwithIK That value is already one. However, if I tried to create the order using the copy function in C07, it worked. But the root cause is still a mystery. But thanks IK, your videos really helped to get a better understanding on production planning. What you are doing is really something no one else in the online community are doing, not only explaining the concept but with a real time example is missing within the SAP community of Gurus :) Keep going.

Can this be used for Remove and Replace? Remove and replace would mean that you replace a part from the assembly that you rework with new part. The new part is consumed, and the old part needs an additional disposition, so it has to be created in stock. Or, is there another way of performing this task?

Hi IK Sir, In ECC our client is creating Rework order with CO01 Transaction with Rework Order type, When I checked the configuration perticular to that order type there is a field name as Routing selection, where there is option 3 (select reference operation automatically) is selected. But when when i check the order type dependamt parameters ( same for repwork order type) in S4 HANA system that field not there anymore. Then my question is if I want to create a rework production order with CO01Tcode how can I achive this?

Hello, please use CO07 to create rework orders. CO01 is for standard production orders.

Thank you. Typically in a rework process we take the product where the defect is observed and perform corrections and put the product back after the fix. So the consumption for the product should take place.
