Wonder how this holds up today. After leading an Oracle ERP transformation, I find their definition of the word FUSION to be misleading. I agree that it is more mature (some modules) and is flexible, but almost to a fault. Their tech stack is not fully on Redwood and is a mix of OAF/ADF/Redwood. And most of their other modules are acquisitions that are not fully integrated into Fusion.

What are your thoughts on Industry specific ERP packages that were made to support/grow with a specific industry?
@erickimberling2 жыл бұрын
Hi Charlie, there is good merit to industry specific solutions. They may not be as "big" as other ERP systems, but they can provide more specific and cost-effective capabilities depending on industry and what the requirements are.
@charliefischer28312 жыл бұрын
@@erickimberling Thank you for your thoughts and insight. I myself am with one of the “smaller industry specific” ERP systems. My father has a company with 5 locations out west and in Mexico, and he decided to go down the Oracle/Generic path. Long story short, he regrets not getting an industry specific package. Glad I subscribed to your channel! You’ll be seeing my comments on your page. Cheers!

I am loving this. Eric can you suggest the best way to implement ERP ? Waterfall does not work. You already said Agile does not work . Any form of hybrid ?
@wernerleithgob5629 Жыл бұрын
Good Day, we implemented D365 Template moving from SAP using both Waterfall and Agile. Its a tricky concept to get right, but if managed and tracked it works.
@ManuelRodriguezsite Жыл бұрын
@@wernerleithgob5629 Would suggest a hybrid waterfall approach. Waterfall the whole thing and divide tasks into sprints.

SAP is too complex for its own good, and it’s inelegant with it. You can build unintelligible and eventually unsupportable data models with it. You can paint yourselves into a process corner with it if you are not careful.

@@joelt7869 Once you have a thorough understanding of ERP concepts, it’s not terribly hard to “switch” ERPs. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I still believe that SAP in over engineered for most organisations…even Tier 1 organisations.

Don't understand how you can compare Microsoft with SAP or Oracle. The comparison should be between D365 F&SCM vs SAP S4 hana vs Oracle. Business central is a very basic product and it cannot be compared with SAP at all, hence no point in comparing Microsoft with SAP etc
