I live so near a XC course that I watch people go around at events from the kitchen and if I walk to the end of our field I am about a meter from the water jump! Watching people fall in the water is amazing! Would recommend!

For whatever reason, KZbin has decided to show me these in 2023 - and honestly, I’m loving it! I’ve never seen these pre-2020 vlogs before, so it’s been lovely to be able to ‘meet’ all of the other horses who are no longer on the yard, and also see some of the long-timers as younger versions of themselves 🥰 (Dee Dee used to be sooooo dappled. Amelia Fearn BE 100 plus is the next level, which is a novice dressage test a 105 showjumping but still a 100 cross country course 😁

How does 1 day eventing work in the UK? Because in Denmark 1 day eventing is like a marathon. There are usually 3 different classes going on at once, and you always do dressage first, but then you only have 30 min. to make it to show jumping after your dressage test, so in the smaller classes you usually will do dressage in a jumper saddle, because its so stressing to change saddles, because you need to take it with you since the parking is usually 10 min walk away from the dressage and show jumping. You can technically walk your show jumping course if you want, but horses will be jumping while you are there. So its easier just to learn in by watching. Not to mention there will be so many different jumps in the arena with different heights and courses. Its really about keeping your cool. And then XC does not start until 12 am, but they always start with the big classes first, so you sometimes have like a 5 hours wait between finishing show jumping and going XC. And if you have a horse like mine who can't be left alone in the lorry its simply a nightmare having to attend to him for 5 hours!!!!!
