@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Thank you 🤩 We used to hack out together for miles before he hurt his back, Thank you, yes donut wasn’t being nasty just spooked by something, I don’t think his intention was to get me off 😂 that saddle pad offers no support at all so and bucking will result in me being thrown around 😂 hopefully very soon we can get an actual saddle fitted to him, We were trying to hold of buying one for a bit as he will change shape so much so we will have to change saddles often 🤦♀️ xx

4:34 good save landing on feet. Nothing nasty and seemed to stay aware of not trampling you over👏👏 7:20 look at the dapples in Willows hind end 🤩 what a lovely stroll through the woods 🍀
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Haha thank you 🤩 No there was nothing nasty from donut, he wasn’t trying to get me off, That saddle pad offers no stability, I’m hoping we will get him a proper saddle soon, we were holding of from buying on for a bit as we know he will change shape so much over the next few months so we were using the saddle pad to save buying multiple different saddles I love willows colour at this time of the year, with his dapples in show 😍 X

Lovely you can get out together, my other half won't even lead them in from the field 😂 he fixes fencing and builds stables and that's his contribution 😂 gambler says he'd love to come and live in Cornwall 😂❤ lovely boys xxx
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Haha thank you, I’m so grateful when he does decide to ride out with me Mine will fix fencing, stables ect and he will also do the waters for me and empty my wheelbarrow but that’s his limit 😂 Gambler would love to come down and live in Cornwall 😂 xxx

@KarenBadrick1 we are lucky girls to have handy men! I love gambler 🖤 you should take the boys to the royal welsh! They have gelding class as well xxx

@welshymad yes we are so lucky 💙 Lewis dream is to take gambler around the ring at the royal welsh show, but the nearly 5hr journey there puts me off 😂 xx

@KarenBadrick1 we go up from Cornwall every year and make it our holiday, there's always places close by with spare stables and somewhere for you to sleep! Willow could do the palomino class too! Lewis would love it, you all would. Watching the senior cob stallions is the the most amazing thing ever! The atmosphere is electric xxx

Ps to conclude, if we go on a ride we think of route, end etc and go,,,,,, a horse goes step to step, or EG forest start to maybe 100metres, they have no idea what why when, how long we are going. I will leave you in peace, just give hubby gold rosette, he rode Willow so quietly esp hands xx

Horse-eating ferns on the left there --- at least Gambler thought so -- lol. Nice to see you and Steve out hacking together. I did wonder why Steve and Lewis walk out with you when at least one of them could be riding and exercising a horse. I think you pretty much answered that. I don't know if you've done a video on why you Connemarras are your breed of choice (I know they are favored by many people for their versatility) but I'd be interested in a video on that, if you're looking for suggestions :) Thank you for taking us along on your lovely fall hack :)

Thank you Yes lewis is not confident hacking out, he will do it but prefers to stick to a walk, Steve used to ride with me all the time but now sitting I. The saddle hurts his back, he will rode more this year with me tho as he will ride gambler when we start hacking donut out I have welsh section D’s but yes I can definitely do a video on why they are the only horses I choose to have 🤩 xx
@bethany6148Ай бұрын
Donut was actually very sensible about that unplanned dismount bless him! Love that your other half goes out hacking with you, all mine ever does is moan about the horses and refuse to go near them 🙄xx

Shaken but not stirred eh Karen,,,, glad yous ok and landed on your feet,,, a ysrd I once worked at used saddle pads for the youngsters during their early training I was the test crash dummy I lost count of the number of times I eas dispatched,,,, ooh it improves your riding or you have to fall off a 100 times to become a rider??? Yeah right hahaha... Hats off to Steve putting his back through that for you, definitely a good man and tidy rider too.... Gambler looked at times to be FORWARD going!! You did mention that he's more active in the Autumn months... It was Gambler that actually got me interested in your videos he's the horse I would have liked when I was a boy , he's genuine, kind, good to handle easy going and a confidence giver 100% all good all-rounder... You have some beautiful places to ride the scenery is stunning and I personally love autumn time for the changes it brings with the different colours... A not horse knowledgeable friend of ours came over to put some lights up and asked what was it like to do horse's for a living and costs ,, I said well basically we shovel money in one end and shovel s**t from the other, and if we win money we shovel it in again,,, I think he got the jist of things,,, Till next time ,, thanks again Karen for ALL your videos and vogs we love em 👍👍👍

Haha I’m so pleased I landed on my feet 😂 Haha yep we’ve all heard that saying, you have to fall of to become a better rider 😂 I’d rather stay on as I’m to old to bounce nowadays 🤣 Thank you, fingers crossed we will see more of him riding this winter as he needs to hack out on gambler when I take donut out 🤩 He has no idea if he’s on the right trot of canter leg but he really is such a good rider Yes gambler certainly felt so much more forward on this ride, he really does struggle with the heat so he is so much more enjoyable to ride in the cooler weather. I hear this quite a lot, that people found the channel because of gambler and fell in love with his easy going attitude 🥰 There will be an update on Thursday about our future plans with him 😕 Yes we have so much hacking around us, I love going out and just seeing all the views Haha yes that is the perfect way to explain what it’s like to own horses 🤦♀️ I do wonder why we do it sometimes, it’s like we’re just throwing money down the drain 😂 although there costly to keep I wouldn’t have it any other way, they really do do wonders to my mental health so there totally worth it Thank you so much for being here, I really do appreciate you Till next time 👏

Is gambler his new saddle not a success? I thought it was beautiful and looked comfy! I know what steve is feeling, i love my three year old mare she is amazing but my back is killing me, my daughter is riding her but a really would love to ride without pain, i get an epidural in my back tomorrow that should help a few months with the pain 🤞
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Gamblers saddle fits him nicely and free’s up his shoulder, so suits him really well but I find it uncomfortable to ride in, his old saddle was extremely comfy to ride in so I think I’ve just got to adjust to this on or get a gell seat saver for it. Oh hopefully that will make you feel so much better 🤞 I’m so thankful that he will put up with the pain every so often for me, so we can ride out together x
@Wendy-bd9zuАй бұрын
Must be so nice to ride with him, wish he would have no pain too, that would make life so much better, thank you so much! Im going to ride, muck out, sweep the yard jump around happy if it helps! Im 43 o dont want to live like an old lady. 🧑🦽
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Yes it’s so nice to ride out with him again, we used to do it all the time before he hurt his back, You will have to let me know if it works for you, fingers crossed it does and then you can enjoy all the horse care and riding again I’m 41 and completely understand what you mean, we get enough aches and pains from getting older without adding in a bad back with it x

Nice to see steve hacking out with you. My hubby won't go near my horse never mind ride😂
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Thank you It is rare these days that he actually rides with me but he’s always at the stables with me whenever he’s not working He’s had horses all his life, his dad owns his own stable yard she that’s all Steve knows, I didn’t have horses till I met Steve when I was nearly 16 He won’t muck out tho 😂
@sasunake7453Ай бұрын
steve is a lovely quiet rider - shame he doesn't ride more often!
@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Thank you, Yes he really is such an amazing quiet rider, he’s rode all his life and regularly broke horses into ride for his dad, He can’t tell if he’s on the right trot or canter leg, but he always gets them going amazing. He will hopefully ride more this winter for me as he will be riding gambler when I start hacking donut out and I’m hoping the pain in his back when riding will ease a bit the more he does it x

@KarenBadrick1Ай бұрын
Thank you Yes his had the wonky tail since I bought him as an unbroken coming 4yr old, been checked by vet, physio and saddle fitter regularly over the years and no one can find a reason for it, All they say is that it must have laid funny when he was in the womb
@Phillip-p1eАй бұрын
@@goalieflyingkaitunc9124 Have looked up tail issues,, it's not uncommon, could have happened in the womb or immediately after birth ,some foals have been known to lay down on it so it favours one side .. . There's a top show jumping whose owner said that as a youngster he would sit up with his tail under his right hind quarter 👍
