The high, midtone and bass are a perfect balance. I love the X5 also very much, but for my taste it has a bit too much base and high is not as vibrant as these speakers ❤ perfect it is

I listened to the Chris Stapleton track, on my Schiit stack/planar phones. Then paused the vid, pulled up the same track on Tidal and played it through my Elac DF62s. Phones just don't do it for me... I much prefer feeling the sound in the room, even with my much lower quality speakers and the glass fishbowl that is my living room. Excellent quality mic aside, nothing like having those high quality speakers in your home.

Hi Ron. Thanks for this! I was swept away by Brothers, just gorgeous. I did notice that the leading edges of piano notes weren’t as resolved as I’ve heard elsewhere. Also, I heard a shortage of bass control in the first 2 tracks. Are these KZbin artefacts or did you hear what I hear? With love, Ken

Death row sounds also very, very good on my Kef’s LS50 Meta’s with a nice sub. The difference with the demo in this vid is, bigger woofers move more air, and there is no substitute for a pair of big (paper) woofers hanging on a stable amp, they give you just that bit extra.

I thought on death row the bass was just a tad too much...but I'm listening on airpods. I don't know....I find these sound clips pointless because I'm sure they sound way better in person but, others seam to like them. Keep up the great work Ron....you are by far my favorite reviewer.

Ron.. what is your favorite speaker under $1500? I really would love to hear your thoughts. I am trying to fill a void...lol Elacs still? I have Elac uni fi 2.0 ub 52 bookshelf Emotiva zero (I like especially the coherent high without harshness but feel they lack something in the midrange), Wharfedale 225 ( not nearly as coherent as the prior 2), and Jamo 97ii (they hurt my ears.. the high frequency is harsh). Magnepan 1.7i (crossover design by your bff Danny Richie) Jamo c607 (like these better than 97ii) Emotiva 3010 sub (actually musical) Acoustech pl 200 sub (not musical) Bic F12 (I dont like it) 2 DIY subs.. 1 ×15 and 1 x 18 in an H frame My amps/pre/etc.. Svs soundbase Cambridge cxr 200 Citation 7.1 Crown xls 1002 Cambridge dac magic (larger model) Loxjie d30 dac (in route) Smsl sa 300 (actually think it sounds great but not enough) .I would love to own the sapphires but a bit out of my range.

Yes your room size will be fine with the M3 Sapphires IMO. Since your room is square I would consider bass traps behind the speakers. Talk to Clayton about room treatments. A square room can be problematic without treatments with any speaker.

This video should be post on ask paul from psaudio. I love his channel. But he say that open baffle loudspeakers are great only from mid and above that. Bass cancel out and is problematic for him. I think this video should be the answer. OMG THAT BASS!!!!! Ron always raves about bass on open baffle speakers, his speed, texture and tone are unmatched and in this video it all made sense to me. In my country we are going through difficult times and my economic situation is very bad. But I hope to recover a bit and subscribe as a patreon to give you support. Thanks for everything.

I played the death row song on my system and I was kinda shocked by the bass plucking. It is quite punchy in this song. Guess the sound clips with flat headphones are closer to reality than I thought.

Very easy repeating tracks with long bass notes. You can't judge speakers with them.
