This card and all the other 6600xt's appear to be a fantastic choice for us Aussies who have been suffering particularly bad from this market, stock appears to be strong so far and prices are close to msrp for the PowerColor and Sapphire Pulse variants which is a breath of fresh air with 3060's going for $1000+. Just picked up the Sapphire Pulse model for $630 ($40 over Australian MSRP) to stick in my new rig that's been powering a long with integrated graphics. Happy to hear it's a quiet card too, that was really important for me when putting together my build. Cheers Wendell, also yes please deliver us excellent OBS support. It's too late now, you gotta do it.

@@Deathwing2 It's insane right? I've been watching gpu prices every day for about a month and while they've come down a hair, they've all been totally unjustifiable. Even a GTX 1660 costs more at $699. I told myself before the launch of the 6600 xt that if this thing falls between $550 and $650 I'm jumping on it, and I'm glad to see it's gone that way at least in our neck of the woods.

Its what I've been telling people that msrp means very little these days because if the prices weren't twisted most people would get a 3060Ti for an extra $20 but 3060Ti's sell for $700 or more and 3060's for $600 so if the 6600 XT can be had for $400 to 500 that's a good deal, for these days anyway.

@@Lennox032 Gone are the days of the 200$ card. There are two reasons for that: 1. GDDR6 costs 12$ per GB of RAM as of 2020 and it's more expensive now, but unknown by how much. 2. The current 9th gen of consoles are very strong. 1. With GDDR6(X) costing a minimum of 12$ per GB the rtx 3060's 12GB of VRAM cost 144$ alone, compared to the 4GB GDDR5 of the rx 480/580 which cost 22$, you can see how the rtx 3060 easily hits 120$ extra over the 200$ at the time rtx 480/580. The rtx 3060 is overpriced only by 20$, the MSRP should be 310$ 2. Due to the 8th gen consoles coming out underpowered, three years later, low-end GPUs like the gtx 1060 3/6GB, rx 580/570 were excellent and cheap at the same time, especially the rx 580/570. Now that the PS5 has a GPU equivalent close to the RX 6700xt and the Xbox Series X has a GPU close equivalent to the RX6800 non-XT, you need at least a 25% stronger GPU than those consoles to get the same performance at the same resolution and graphics settings of new games.

At the time this was released I think AMD was a little low on a realistic MSRP, and certainly the higher quality 6600 XTs aren't going to be anywhere near that price. If the tariff on GPUs were to go away on the other hand, the MSRP is very possible since I believe AMD baked in that cost to MSRP. I could even see lower end models dropping down to $350. But Biden wants his taxes and he claims it's bringing manufacturing back to the US, even though that means paying more for products while imports are taxed to ensure they cost more than domestic products, which for the consumer is worse.

I'm also on a 56 pulse and it's been fine at 1440p, though they are selling for 650+ so you can maybe upgrade for free if you can find a new card, althoug I would go for something higher end than a 6600xt

@@tanmaypanadi1414 when compare to 3060ti it is not. When compared to 3060 this is just in par so this is fine gpu for 1440p gaming cheaper than 3060, faster at 1080p same speed at 1440p and in 4K it lose to 3060. To normal gamer 6600xt is better deal. If you want to game 4K… Well you need something bigger than 3060 or 6600xt.

This GPU is a fail one for his price ( 380 $ , euro in EU ) , same performance as 5700 XT plus is a bad one for PCI express 3 u need a motherboard whit PCI express 4 for full performance . I will skip this card , retailers in Europe are selling it for 500 euro as starting price but the price will rise whit the new stocks up to 600 -650 euro , so is NOT worth buying .

I understand all of the other points but the card was advertised as PCIe 4, so why would it be a hit if it were to max out PCIe 3 bus (which it does not)?

LoL, 6600xt has been easily available at 400 or sub 400 € all day in most of Europe. Sold my used 2060 for 400€, bought this for the same, big performance gain and more importantly it stopped having texture pop in issues.

well if you have a AMD PCIe3 system and you are in the market for the RX 6600XT hmm what gpu are you running and why. if you have a Intel PCIe3 you are most like buying Ngreedia at anyway. PCIe 4 8x is 16 GB/s vs PCIe 3 8x 8GB/s and for long time they have said pcie3 16x vs 8x makes no difference for you gpu performances. now looking at Hardware Unboxed 1080p Average Performance, it is on par with 2070super and 5700XT both technically one tier higher cards now Steve looks at that the PCIe3 8x as lost performances vs PCIe4 8x however that is also a gain performances by updating to old PCIe4 motherboard and CPU for the stoneage PCIe3 hardware.
@charlesballiet7074
@charlesballiet7074 3 жыл бұрын
@@1BigBen lol your argument is that people with 3 year old computers should just buy a whole new motherboard because amd is greedy. or did you forget the x570 motherboards were on average $300+ dollars. theres no logical reason whey they would nerf the pci connectivity except for it saved them a few pennies and was basically a screw you to people holding on to 1070s or vegas or any older generation hardware. Also in terms of performance this 6600xt is a refresh both in terms of performance and price to the 5700xt so as Steve said its not an improvement.
@1BigBen
@1BigBen 3 жыл бұрын
@@charlesballiet7074 a refresh that is RX480 to RX580 to RX590 going from RX 5700XT to RX6600XT is step up in architecture, but step down in SKU level as for Vega56/64 it is 1 refresh and 1 generational jump, 50% drop in power usage, fps again at 1080p. going from 8GB of HBM2 2048-bit bus and Bandwidth 484 GB/s bottleneck card to slower on paper 8GB 4x2GB 128bit bus Bandwidth 256 GB/s, however with the 32MB Infinity Cache the Bandwidth is up to 832GB/s a architecture improvement. as for GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 256 bit bus Bandwidth 256 GB/s on power it's on par, as for performance didn't even make on to Steve's 1080p list. the reason for only 4x2GB chip is due to how small of a die we have, the PCB real estate very is small and same reason for the PCIe4 "nerf" you would need to adding layers to go 16x that would add cost and would most like put it closer in cost and performance to the RX 6700XT as for cost of motherboards AMD makes and sell's the chipset and provides the agesa, rest is the OEM
