Bought it at launch in Poland at around 286 pounds at today's exchange rates. RX580 from Sapphire was at 266 pounds so I figured that paying a little bit more for the extra performance was a no brainer. The XFX Fat Boy RX590 actually was also at 266 pounds but the reviewers said it was slower than the Sapphire and louder and I enjoy silence. The GTX 1060 at the time was a no go - worse performance and priced only a bit less than RX590. I've kept Resident Evil 2 and plan to sell the other two games so maybe I can get some more value from it :) But you are right, if I would wait then I could now get a RTX 2060 MSI Ventus for 344 pounds and I could spend this little extra without any problems. But also I managed to sell my old Radeon 7950 for around 61 pounds in October and now probably wouldn't get that much for it. I'm not regretting getting the RX590, it's always like that - if you wait you can always buy something better after 3-4 months. So to sum it up, when I got this in November it was the sweet spot. Not a big difference in price with RX580/GTX 1060 and RTX 2070 or GTX 1070 and other Pascal cards were way more expensive. Not to mention I only game at 1080p on my TV :) It's a nice pair with my Ryzen 5 2600X.

Hello Amigo, I bought this card at Christmas for £250 - I got it to replace a top of the line GTX950! I went for this card as I saw a lot of recommendations for RX580 being the best price per power at 1080p. I read a lot of forums about people recommending the Sapphire Nitro RX580 card above all the others, they said it was good quality etc. and that some other variants of the RX580 card had fan issues or whatever. When I looked at prices they were around £220, so it made sense to me to pay the extra £30 for better clocks and new 12nm standard (although I know there are arguments over whether the process is really any different or not). So from my standpoint, I wanted to buy a quality card but one at a decent price-point so I got this hoping it would prove to be the best of both worlds.

Anyone wanting an RX590, I'd recommend just getting a 580 8GB. The 580's are at sub $200 new almost everywhere now in the U.S. I just built my first gaming PC and my 580 literally puts out the same performance with most of those titles you did benching on. I'm positive a memory overclock and a small 400mhz core overclock will hive you the exact or better performance that a stock 590. Great video as always!

one of the older computers on my fathers office has a damaged motherboard. all other components are still working. it is a core 2 duo 4400 based system with a dedicated (was later replaced with a gtx 480) gpu and was used for architectural design. if you are interested i can check it's exact specs. the pc has served for 11 years and since 2 weaks ago it can't boot into windows. it is now replaced by a more than worthy new system containing an I7-8700 and a quadro p4000.

I have one of these, so let me talk about it. I got it about two months ago for just over £250 plus P&P, along with the three game bundle. At the time, Sapphire's own RX 580 Nitro+ range was actually the same price or more expensive for something that would conceivably perform worse, and cheaper 580s didn't look to have the same build quality, and without picking on XFX and PowerColor too much, there was a risk that this could have carried over to their 590s as well. The cheapest, decent 580 at the time was basically about £225 to £230 so I considered the extra free game as well as the potential for a slightly more efficient card. The 1060 6GB was priced no better and only came with one free title, and the 1070 and Vega 56 were over £300. Finally, this 590 may be the only one with a (small) memory overclock out of the box. It's a rather distinctive card, make no mistake. Some people won't like that, and I decided to alter my motherboard's LED to complement the blue glow from the Nitro+ as opposed to just cycle between colours as it did up until that point. I've also been relatively successful with undervolting it; originally, it was set no higher than 1075mV at -10% power limit, but newer versions of Adrenaline has pushed me more towards 1095/1100mV at -8%. I don't have a power meter to check things with, but it seems stable enough and the fans are never loud (in fact, if you play older titles and don't seek super-high frame rates which are wasted on a 60Hz panel like my own, some simple tweaking means the card is barely ticking over, and almost always completely silent, hence cool). Should it have been released as a 590? No - a 580 LE/+/XT or 585 would've made more sense. AMD's decision to shrink Polaris and then clock it even higher rather than demonstrate its improved efficiency could be seen as a negative (especially given that Polaris seems to be limited by a lack of ROPs), but with a lot of people saying they care more about performance than power consumption, it was probably the best idea at the time, but given that you can automatically undervolt Vega and still outperform the 590, I wouldn't be too surprised if somebody held out for a decent Vega 56 to drop in price and then opted for that instead. That's enough incoherent babbling from me.

I did get the three games with it and since that's about $180 value I didn't consider it that bad of a price for the card. Plus when I upgrade next year to a ryzen CPU I will have a 1080 P Beast ready to go.

I have the Gold edition of that card. (AMD 50th anniversary) I got it on a 30% discount. A spur of the moment kind of purchase, since I was running Athlon 200ge with 8GB-3000 MHz at the time, just to have a modern test machine. Got the card. Realised that I'd be running at PCIe x4. Ordered the Ryzen 3-1200 which was at the same price as the Athlon 200ge at the time, to get full PCIe x16. Still goin strong and hasve basically built my machine around it so far, with an upgrade to 16GB-3200 MHz, added a 1 TB SSD for game drive and relegating the 1 TB HDD to media. Most recently I got a Freesync 144Hz monitor and I have nothing to complain about at this point, bar the card being quite powerhungry. I run on a 550W PSU and with 2x SSD, 1xHDD, 4 case fans + 2-channel fan controller and a Gigabyte B450m Gaming mobo, I am just on the limit of what my PSU can handle.

I bought a RX 580 Nitro+ (which is the same thing as this but in black) for my SFF machine... when I got it I saw the small box it came in and I was exited... then I opened the thing... I was surprised by how beefy it was because it was only $150 usd brand new, so I had to dust of the Dremel and got to cutting my SG13... in the end I had to cut a piece of the top left support bar (took a chunk out of it without splitting it in half), mount my AIO with the tubing at the top because the cards back plate interfered with the fat part of my AIO’s radiator, remove the front panel connectors because they were in the way of the radiator, remove the 3.5” drive support bracket that also interfered with the radiator, mount the 2.5” HDD to the vent on the right of the case, put some rubber feet on the right side of the cover and mount tho whole thing on it’s side so that the tubes on the radiator were on it’s side so 5 year old AIO could pump whatever is left of cooling liquid I side of it... it was a mess, and to top it off the latest Radeon Software Adrenalin blue screened the machine right after logging into Windows so I had to make a recovery USB on my laptop, grab a portable version of DDU and uninstalled the drivers, which stopped the blue screens. Man, this card has only given me lots of trouble...

I bought this card at the end of last year, early December. I was £239 from Overclockers.co.uk which aren't usually the cheapest for many items. So bear that in mind that for whatever reason the prices featured here are quite high. Currently this blue one and the gold one are still £239 while the standard grey colour is £218. Having a quick look on Amazon, you can find an RX 590 delivered with Prime for under £200. It did easily beat the 1060 at the time but appears to be a much closer match with the new GTX 1660 which can also be found for £200. So I would agree if you're buying this card for 250+ back in January it wouldn't be such a great deal but still beat the 1060 which were often more expensive if you wanted a decent cooler to match the Sapphire. Now though, you shouldn't buy the RX 590 if it's over 200, you might as well pick up a 1660 if FPS per £ is the most important factor.

ive been using a RX-580 8gb Red Devil for about three years now and its still a decent 1080p card. i got mine for super cheap though. i got mine for $179 like three years ago and i havent regretted it at all. its still my main card right now. i would like to upgrade to a faster card so i can do 1440p at decent rates. some of the games i play right now, the 580 8gb Red Devil is able to handle 1440p with an acceptable frame rate and highest settings

The Nitro RX 590 Special Edition (Blue) with the AMD game bundle with the mentioned three games costs around 290€ in Germany and the Black version of the Nitro RX 590 with the 3 game bundle costs about 280€ in Germany (at Alternate.de). I think it is a great value considering all games cost and will cost 60€. So effectively you pay around 100-110€ for the graphics cards if you calculate 180€ (3x60) for the bundled games.

i feel the same about these, the value just isn't quite there in the current market, even if you want a brand new card. looking at the German market, the RX 590 starts at around 240 Euro for an XFX model. the cheapest RX 580 8GB costs 169 Euro right now. it's on sale, but RX 580s have been on sale quite often lately. 4GB models occasionally go for even lower. Sapphire's Nitro+ version of the RX 580 4GB, probably one of the best models, currently goes for 165 Euro. on the other side of the RX 590, if you can cough up a bit more, there are lower end Vega 56 models for about 300 Euro sometimes. so, you can get slightly less performance for considerably less money or you can get considerably more performance for... well not slightly more money, but not that much more. and if you're willing to buy used then yeah, the RX 590 doesn't stand a chance

To be honest, I wouldn't say that any of those cards are "budget", the real king of budget at the moment is the RX 570 4GB, it cost less than a 1050TI but is ranging between the 1060 3GB and 6GB versions so it feature a better FPS per $/£ ratio and if you are on a budget, this ratio is what matters the most. I just paid 200$CAD (152$USD/116£) for my Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4GB, which physically speaking, is the same PCB/cooler as your 590 and it's the sweet spot for someone who game occasionally.

For budget higher end nothing beats the RX480 8gb. The 580 is just a rebadged 480 but you pay a fair bit more for it. It's also great for demanding editing without breaking the bank. Looking at about $120 used for a regular model and $140 for a Strix or similar higher end version with normal/current Ebay prices. Hunt for a deal and they can be had under $100us

So, for the first time ever I need some advice. Got a 2500k system pegged at 4.3. Along with that is 16Gb of mem at 1600mhz. It's what you would call a legacy system. The card pushing it is a GTX980. The big question is will this outfit be up to pushing an Oculus system that my mate is bringing over? Probably trying to run Assetto Corsa, and Dirt Rally? Hopefully this should be ok but over to you guys for the lowdown???

I do not know the pricing in the UK, but here in america I just bought a used rx580 for only 85USD. you can get rx570s as low as 70usd and rx560s for 50usd on ebay.

you seem to be forgetting the value of the games for example here in canada after shipping and tax its $400 but comes with $240 worth of games putting it under $200 after factoring in the cost of the games.

People that have the following cards: RX 470, 480, 550, 560, 1030, 1050, 1050ti or other low end cards are probably the ones that are gonna consider this card if they don't want to spend more than the cards price. It is a great 1080p performer and it slides nicely between the 1060 and 1070.

rx470 and 480 are not low end cards, if these cards low end, you should add 1060 to the list

They are not low end but are almost 3 years old now like the 1060. I meant that the 550 and the others when i said low end.

all is about the price at the place you live. In my place where I buy hardware sapphire nitro+ 8GB 590 is only 10 euros above 580 and cheaper than 1060 and the 1070 is more 100 Euros more. the games are very good addition :) 580 4 GB is as cheap as 570 8GB

I find it amazing that you can now get the RX580 for around £100 now or new for about £120

You can now get a 590 for £200. And, as mentioned, you can also get a GTX1660 which is more powerful for this price. But for just a bit more... you can get an RX VEGA 56 for £248. Now that's real power, on a budget! What a difference 3 months makes.

There are miners who sell their rigs nowadays due to the crash and I've seen 1070 cards for 220-230£ or less in London... I was actually thinking of selling my 1060, but between Gsync/freesync I gotta upgrade to AMD once I go 1440p, since the G-sync monitors costs a lot more. Quite happy at 1080p with my 1060 though, maybe in about 2 years or so.

What do y'all think will age better, the 1070 or rx 590 ? There's used 1070's in my country that are cheaper than a new 590, and icant even think about the 2060 cause its $500
