I got mine in February for 415$ and I couldn't be more happy with it. This is my second Sar 9 pistol and my Sar 9x Platinum mags fit this gun as well so that makes it all the more awesome. Can't beat the value at this price point. Great ergonomics, great trigger, extremely reliable and it comes optic ready. Definitely a viable option as an edc. It's not as heavy as my p10c and it's just as accurate so it's definitely part of my edc rotation.

@@khontklargus__6107they have a reputation for being well tested & very reliable. Some of the early 1st gen versions were sprung fairly heavy, so they struggled with lighter charged ammo, but the same could be said for Caniks a couple yrs ago as well. Spring rates were adjusted for the US market, so they now do fine with weaker ammo.

Graham, the Sar 9 is the very first gun I bought and I have two. I've run nothing but 115 and 124 grain standard ammo and have never had any issues. More lately, I've purchased Fiocchi 115 g which I have not used previously and interestingly, the Beretta APX A1 with the stock spring/guide rod will NOT run Fiocchi 115 g at all. I was not entirely surprised, the APX A1 is the most difficult gun to rack I've ever encountered. Extremely stiff spring. I was more surprised it does run 124 grain Blazer, since I later read the APX A1 is made for 124g NATO ammo, which makes sense. Beretta was good enough to send me the slightly weaker spring/guide rod from the 1st generation APX and with that, I've not had trouble with any ammo. I believe the Fiocchi 115g runs fine in the Sar 9, but I intend to check again this weekend. I have pistols not only from SAR, but from Tisas, Girsan and AĞAOĞLU and all four brands run standard (non-NATO) ammo just fine for me. The Fiocchi 115g does seem weaker compared to the other ammo I've used -- Blazer, Federal, Remington, Magtech and S&B mostly.

Which would require western Europeans and Americans to work for the same wages and benefits as Turks...and the American and European manufacturers the same type of OSHA/EPA-ish standards as Turkey, and would pretty much prohibit manufacturers like S&W, Walther, HK, Sig, etc. to forego any of those annoying dead investments in product development...which, quite frankly, I've never seen any evidence that a Turkish firearms manufacturer has ever spent one serious nickel on. SAR is a good company and frankly it's the best of the Turkish gunmakers, but wishing that someone else with a "better" name would make the same thing for the same price is fantasical. Just say it, "I'm a cheapskate and I want a [insert name of favorite German gunmaker here] for the same price." Besides, the M&P line and the base P320 line isn't far off pricewise, and used Glocks and the HK VP line are competitive (sort of) pricewise. SAR absolutely does make reliable and rugged duty-capable guns, but I'll spend more and enjoy my HKs and Sigs instead.
@bagel4118 ай бұрын
@JD-tn5lz I'm a cheapskate and want ALL the German/Italian guns for the same price. I really did take your point to heart in regards to the R&D cost, as well as regulatory costs driving some price points up. And the market dictates final price. Sig can charge whatever they want, but if people won't pay it, then it will eventually be cheaper. But people pay it. So that is the price. Still holding firm to the idea that MSRP is overinflated on some brands, though.
@JD-tn5lz8 ай бұрын
@@bagel411you're pretty much on point. Absolutely, and I'm a cheapskate too. Yeah, I'd love to buy my next new HK for the same price as a Sarsilmaz, but I know that just won't happen. So like every good consumer I choose to either go cheaper and buy now or save a few pennies and buy later. Thing is, Sarsilmaz does produce an excellent value. These 9mm striker fired polymers aren't my thing (who needs yet another?) but they also make some finely crafted CZ75 copies.
