I can tell that he thought of something that wasn’t going to get him fired but saying that “watching is free, won’t cost you nothing” was a way of showing how much he misses his partner in crime. He’s said he knows for a fact that she isn’t racist unlike the other cast members that wouldn’t have a career without her. I’m out near her home in Hawaii right now & would give anything to tell her that by taking her out they lost the heart & brains of that show! Roseanne chose to value her sharing her own opinion, via a professional platform than the careers of hundreds of people. She was the face of the brand, she had a responsibility to everyone working on that show. She decided that she, one person was more important. TV shows and movies are not made from a group of people, sitting in a room and throwing pixie dust in the air. The networks/companies spend millions of dollars on research and outreach: they watch their numbers and act accordingly. They know week my week, if a character or storyline isn’t working and they act on it - that is the job. I don’t believe that Roseanne is fundamentally racist, I think she said something racist and was enormously foolish to do so, using her profession platform. We now lose her talent BUT she chose to do this. The network have looked at the enormous bad feeling that has been levelled at them and they acted accordingly. It might not work, if coutse but all this silliness about how terrible and shameful the network is, that’s nonsense. This is business. People just don't realize the patience that has been put into this modern day outspoken hate towards white people. The constant reminders of a world that was left behind many years before the ones who are being attacked today were even born. This is the double standard. This isn't about equal rights, because equal rights have been there since the Jim Crow era died. This is an attempt to overthrow the white race, by means of the power in politics. And force upon them the same hardships the black people of this country once felt with. But the problem in that is the fact that it is an attack on people who had nothing to do with the past. You see, bringing equality to all the people of this country has been a long battle. And it has stained our countries image to the point that it's easy to convince any person of color, religion, or nationality that a white person is evil. But understand that it has always been us fighting for those freedoms. Yes, there has always and will always be the ones who are bigoted racist. This is a trait that a percentage of all races carry. But freedom wasn't won simply by the black man. It's started in the Congress of white people. White people who seen what was going on, who seen people of color to be equal to themselves. It was our votes that led to the illegalization of slavery, which led to the separation of this country, which led to the civil war to reunite this country, and thus eventually the freeing of slaves. The was done by passionate white people who knew that what this country was doing was wrong. Nothing happens over night. That is why I will say that this country has always been great, we just weren't perfect. But we fought, stood beside the people who were enslaved and demanded their freedom. And the years that followed tell the exact same story. We backed people like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and ensured that they have a place to speak and let their voices be herd. It was a long fight to get here, but the black community has made it. And now we face another challenge. And that is the repercussions of the actions of our ancestors. The ones who didn't fight for the rights of the black community. But it doesn't have to be like this, understanding, and coexistence isn't out of sight yet. It's there, you just have to want it. Now I'm sure many will not agree with what I've said here, and even poke holes in my words. But to me, that only shows the ignorance and lies that has been spread to those who just don't get it.

I love John Goodman. I know he was not happy how the whole situation with Roseanne was handled. As far as Sara Gilbert, I feel she had no problem turning her back on Roseanne Barr. John himself said that Roseanne is not a racist. I will not be watching. Roseanne was a Trump supporter in real life and no apologies would make up for that in the liberal directed show. If Roseanne were liberal she would have gotten some 'twitter' backlash and then forgiven, such as Better Midler, Kelly Osbourne, Bill Maher and other liberals who have said worse. The only person who didn't have anybody's back is Roseanne herself. She put her entire show (and the jobs of everybody associated with that show) on the line because she felt compelled to make a moronic late-night racist tweet. You MAGA morons cry and whine about how it was not racist...you cry about free speech...but the truth of the matter is: using the word "ape" to describe black people IS racist. It is a description that MOST people consider offensive. She SHOULD be allowed to say what she wants. But a network should NOT be forced to be associated with her if she wants to say such things. SO...they fired her. John Goodman and the rest of the cast decided to keep the show going (and a ton of people employed) by distancing themselves from the woman who decided to describe a black woman as an ape. If you want to make her a victim or some sort of MAGA icon, knock yourself out. The show is STILL going. People are still employed. (There's a reason MAGAs have not one a single election since 2016...including midterms.)

I've seen compassion from Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, and especially John Goodman. I haven't seen Sara Gilbert show any compassion from the start regarding Roseanne getting fired, and that's a little scary to me. Is it because Roseanne is a Trump supporter? I have to say, I don't agree with Roseanne's politics, but I've still been supportive of her the whole way through. Even at the start of the reboot when people were against this show because of Roseanne's support for Trump. It's a shame when people's politics divide each other that much. If we can't find a middle ground, then we're going backwards, not forwards.

In defense of the actors and producers, the show was never one to avoid painful situations that were so utterly real.... Roseanne's character dying was as real as it gets. And again in their defense, the actors, producers and crew worked so hard too to make the show timeless....why throw that away cuz Roseanne was taken outta the picture. And if Roseanne was so indispensable.....then why didnt they give her a show back in the day with no other regular cast members ? Roseanne was great not just because she was a great comic but cuz she had a great cast to work with. The cast of The Connor's deserve their show....and yes i am a fan of it.

Roseanne chose to value her sharing her own opinion, via a professional platform than the careers of hundreds of people. She was the face of the brand, she had a responsibility to everyone working on that show. She decided that she, one person was more important. She decided to stab the hundreds of people who work on this show in the back, by endangering their livelihoods. TV shows and movies are not made from a group of people, sitting in a room and throwing pixie dust in the air. The networks/companies spend millions of dollars on research and outreach: they watch their numbers and act accordingly. They know week my week, if a character or storyline isn’t working and they act on it - that is the job. I don’t believe that Roseanne is fundamentally racist, I think she said something racist and was enormously foolish to do so, using her profession platform. We now lose her talent BUT she chose to do this. The network have looked at the enormous bad feeling that has been levelled at them and they acted accordingly. It might not work, if coutse but all this silliness about how terrible and shameful the network is, that’s nonsense. This is business. If Roseanne was the president of a drinks company and she become toxic for business, overnight because of a foolish public mistake then she would be fired. It’s no different,

Melissa Gilbert and John Goodman are seasoned actors who, without Rosanne Barr, have accomplished so very much in their life times. Barr is not the owner of all working class family sitcoms nor is she the first person to ever star in a working class family sitcom.
