Sara Pascoe is a brilliant comedian. I love her on QI too. She’s extremely intelligent and interesting.

Curious number of commenters claiming she’s not funny. I’m not hallucinating the audience laughter, am I? You lot can hear it too? There’s zero wrong with not personally finding her funny, nothing wrong with her style not being your thing, but that doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy her.

...The t shirt observation is spot on. I once saw an older woman wearing a t shirt that said "Cute but psycho!" She may have been one but not both!

To those who think Sara Pascoe isn't funny, I have a really simple solution. Don't watch Sara Pascoe videos. Simple, when you think about...

We came here to see what her comedy's like. We voiced our opinions in the comments. And then we moved on. You have my pity for being incapable of handling criticism. Moreso for criticism that isn't even about you.

And you have my pity for apparently being unable to understand irony. How nice; we can both go on our respective ways pitying each other.

What was it, that triggered all those negative comments? Never saw that before with a comedy video. Normally when you don’t like a comedian you click it away. You don’t bother to comment when you don’t like it.

She is funny. This format just isn't funny. I never or rarely ever laugh at stand up comedians, who are just repeating the same "act" over and over.

A moment of silence for the five guys in that audience who's dates dragged them to see this 'show' and had to fake laughing just in desperate hopes of getting laid later that night. Also kudos for the camera operators to find the 'needle in the haystack' of a guy 'laughing'.

I am sorry, I watched that entire clip with full attention but wondered the entire time, why the laughter in background sounds so loud? I should have missed some interesting humour.

The only thing she said that was actually funny was the 'dinatash' joke. Everything else was said in such a rushed way, barely waiting for the laughter that I found it tedious tbh. Shame coz that last joke was really good...so she IS funny but her timing/delivery suck a bit.
@MrDannyDetail2 жыл бұрын
The Live At The Apollo format probably enforces a strict time limit on both the host, and the acts involved, so that all get a fair go and everything fits into the broadcast show, so this may have contributed to the rushed feel of the delivery, as she was likely trying to keep going regardless, in order to get through her material in the allotted timeframe.

According to Sara Pascoe, I'm a stupid homophobe. I was considering buying tickets to see her at our local theatre soon, but I think I'd rather buy tickets to see a less ignorant comedian.

There are other alternatives, of both expressing the view/writing the joke and the response or recipient's interpretation of it. It's also possible to express the idea in a way that it has no implication of devaluation, but something that brings the more freedom containing view full circle. This would probably create more resonance in connecting, or laughing with the personality that is the comedian. Jokes become funnier through connection.
