Happy Epiphany/Thirteenth Day of Christmas! Celebrating the arrival of the three wise men, coming with gifts to the newborn baby Jesus, with some music that was perhaps wasn’t intended as Christmas music at all, but hear me out…!🫅🫅🫅🌟🎁👶The young Sara Wennerberg-Reuter (who would later become organist in Sofia Church in Stockholm, apparently a rather colourful contribution to the otherwise male dominated church music scene at the time) wrote this during her student years in Leipzig, along with some other preludes and fugues. After a short and elegiac prelude a very powerful and energetic fugue takes over, and this is where Epiphany comes into the picture!🌟The composer states that the theme of the fugue is "by Bizet", and although it is true that Bizet used it in his famous "L’Arlésienne", it is actually a popular song from Provence originally, called "March of the the Kings", or "March of the Wise Men", sung in France at Christmas and Epiphany particularly, especially in Provence where it is sung and played at various Epiphany festivities.👑👑👑I hope this will put you in the right mood, and as always - don’t forget to click the thumbs-up and subscribe!😃

Lots of expression in the prelude and surprising the fugue: bravo and thank you.
