I’m walking down the aisle to this in Feb! It took us ages to find the right song. Too many of them are only about the fantasy of love. This song is so much more grounded - “we are not perfect, we’ll learn from our mistakes... I am under prepared but I am willing”. I feel like so many weddings are about the fantasy of love and what they hope marriage will be. But I feel that acknowledging that it will be hard and that you’ll make mistakes, but you choose it anyway, and choose it again every day, is far more romantic than any fantasy ever could be. Real Life Eddy That is why I did not marry until I was 40. I was 42 when my first daughter was born. I am 57, and they are 15 and 14. I do believe, life is to short for our species, to live like others expect you to, and believe me when I say, that your response to relationships is understood. I listen to this song all the time, tear up every time. From the first line, “I could live by the light in your eyes” she somehow finds the perfect words to express how it feels when you’re lucky enough to find the person that you’re thankful for every day.
