@curtisboswell26193 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.... One of these days, you're going to have to break it to him, that the first one to raise their voice in an argument, generally loses. That's the tactic of someone who knows they don't have a leg to stand on... so they want to shout down any opposition. Good luck with your Dad. I cut mine out of my life for fifteen years, until he got the hint. Ruthless? Nope... Just sanity. I decided at eighteen... My life, MY rules, my consequences. It's called personal responsibility.... and it makes me happy. I hope that you find what makes YOU happy, Luna... without allowing anyone else to make your decisions for you. Independence = peace of mind. Thus endeth the sermon.

@celestinespringer48895 жыл бұрын
@@ericandrusca3549 It's one thing that a servant is not equal to a master. It's another thing to refuse to be a servant to some random person off the street who wants to be your master. Serving is a choice, whether you serve your husband or wife (you chose to be married) your community (you chose to give back) or your children (you most likely chose to have and keep them). Unwilling servitude is how you break a relationship, and is usually only maintained via physical, emotional, or verbal abuse.

This song really speaks to me. Especially the line where she says “You got the talkin' down, just not the listening.” And “You sound so innocent, all full of good intent Swear you know best But you expect me to jump up on board with you And ride off into your delusional sunset” Really really powerful lines that just resonate me in terms of dealing with someone who doesn’t actually have my best interest or happiness in mind. The bridge really hits home for me (even though I know it’s dramatic) All my life I've tried To make everybody happy while I Just hurt and hide Waiting for someone to tell me it's my turn to decide It really speaks to me as somebody who has always sort of waited for permission or somebody to push me and tell me what to do. Even the first verse where she simply says “So many things I’d say if only I were able” It just resonates with me so much as somebody that often doesn’t speak there mind in tough situations And just the chorus really is so empowering. We build up our romantic interest to be so powerful and hold so much weight but they don’t have to be. She says it so well in the chorus “And who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything?” Sara Bareilles has always been one of my favorite female artists of our time and this song will always be my favorite of hers.

Oh [Verse 2] You sound so innocent, all full of good intent Swear you know best But you expect me to jump up on board with you And ride off into your delusional sunset I'm not the one who's lost with no direction, oh But you'll never see You're so busy makin' maps with my name on them in all caps You got the talkin' down, just not the listening [Chorus] And who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything? So, you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything? [Bridge] All my life I've tried (Tried) To make everybody happy while I Just hurt (Hurt) and hide Waiting for someone to tell me it's my turn to decide Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh [Chorus] Who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything? So, you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything? Oh, who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything? So, you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything? [Outro] Lemme hold your crown, babe Oh, ooh Ah

I dedicate this song to the last person I was in love with, who treated me this way and tried to control me, and just wanted to be "best friends"! HA! Lemme tell ya, guys and girls can't be best friends without any romantic feelings at one point...friends, yes of course, but not best friends...it's pretty much impossible (if they're both straight). Losing him as a friend was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. Making compromise between two people and give and take is very different from control! Don't let anyone control you guys. Stand up for yourself :) It's hard, and it took me about 2 years to get out of that "friendship", but I did it and I have no regrets.

I don't think you get this song. It has nothing to do with a controlling relationship. It's about self-entitled hipsters

well its up to the both side if they continue the friendship they have in a while but for me this is untrue that straight boy and girl cant be bestfriends this is totally insane i think there some point in life its possible but let's just enjoy life with our true friends, friends for keeps.. no hate just sharing my thoughts have a great day ahead folks! :)

Sara Bareilles is one of my favorite artists going right now, I've liked her since the song "Love Song" she really is incredibly talented.

My mom loves this song from Sara Bareilles so much. Thank you for thinking of her. 💛In fact, I sang it for Cafe Quarantine Karaoke (One Song segment) on Zoom in front of my friends in March 2024 and they loved it at the same time. I let them know that I dedicated it to someone I live with in the same household, of course. 👏🏼

I enjoy this song but the lyrics also drive me a bit crazy. It's good that she has song to let her thoughts out in but I can't help thinking it would be better if she'd just voice those thoughts to the person across the table. She might find she hasn't fully understood his intent. Maybe she has after all but I can't help but wonder.

Last night, I was in a chat room and like always, people were judging my personality. Even though I have done nothing wrong, they were still being mean to me. So I asked what I did WRONG....Truth be told, nothing. I was only guilty of being myself. And this morning, this is the song that popped up in my head.

I don't like to always sit w/ my legs crossed either. I'm that person who sits Indian style even if I am sitting in a chair. Bc idkw. Physical Awkwardness is more comfortable to me, that's y

Well, that song hit the spot, as I have this tendency to feel like "the king of everything", feel entitled or be bossy. I have for the past year tried to solve that issue, it is not an easy process, and this song reminded me of how this can feel like.
