I think he is just implying that recording a video and audio together is more impressive than splitting the two up. A ton of context gets lost in the audio after it's been processed, and there is something magical about a live vocal performance; it comes with more emotion. Emotion gets lost when she isn't actually signing over the pre-recorded track. Voice sounds great, no doubt, but this is a production, rather than live music.
