I wouldn't say she is the best, technique-wise. She had some major issues that inhibited her phonation. But, I do think she has one of *THE* most beautiful voices of all time, particularly around 1994-1998.

This broadcast sent Sarah Brightman's career into orbit. All of a sudden the press was talking about her voice - the power and emotion. When she started out she was in dance group Hot Gossip singing Starship Trooper which was fine and some had found her voice less than convincing as Christine in Phantom at first because she was developing her classical soprano technique as the run progressed.. I wish the Phantom album had been recorded at this moment because she was hitting the peak of her powers. This standard was the culmination of a lot of hard work on her part. Remarkably her vibrato is even a bit sharp on the high notes on this occasion. Usually TV sound transmission makes classical type voices lose harmonics and even sound a bit flat. This is a great moment of musical theatre singing and she is a great lady - enjoy!

@kingromeraso I've been a fan of Sarah's for over half my life (I have socks older than some of the newbies), so it's hard for me to make these comments. Frank Peterson (producer) and David Romano (vocal coach) clearly hear things I don't. I don't know if Sarah's Tweenies obsession is a result of choice or necessity. It's sad, though, to think Sarah's prime is a thing of the past. I sincerely hope she proves me wrong. This performance is superb, no-one can touch her. :)
