Gavin's got his advice nailed down. First time I heard him was in 2006 with PT where they did a try out of the Fear of a blank planet material before it was recorded. That opening drum fill which is just a couple of hits on kick and snare was more than enough to notice that this guy was really a great drummer and i'd be in for something special that evening.

Thank you both so much for taking the time to do this. Gavin is one of my favorite drummers and it's great to hear the stories about playing in a shed and his struggles as an amateur cymbalsmith! We know he's spent countless hours on his craft but it is nice to know there were tin snips, power tools & cymbal dust involved as well ;-)

Great interview but please stop with ‘amazing’ there are other words you can use. You got Gavin saying ‘amazing’😆😉I subscribed because I love that you are talking with Gavin and his history of where he came from during his childhood to an adult. Thank you for the interview Sarah. Thank you Gavin. You were so generous with your time with Sarah. Oh and playing with King Crimson, fabulous, I’m a huge fan of KC and you. You are a mathematician describing your creativity.✌🏼Be safe, both of you. ☮️ PS Okay this was AMAZING and fun.👏🏻😄

A great interview spoiled by the realisation Gavin will now be jabbed to the eyeballs. What a tragedy. I undersrabd he's got awful tinnitus now.
