Examining Paul's provocative analogy in Galatians 4. It’s easy to imagine the apostle Paul with a Torah scroll next to him opened to the book of Genesis as he wrote his letter to the Galatians. He returns time and again to the life of Abraham in his argument against the first century Judaizers, who taught that followers of Jesus were required to keep the law of Moses. And Paul masterfully uses the Torah to disprove their false application of the Torah. And that makes the book of Galatians especially relevant in defeating the theology taught by modern day “Torah keeping” Christians. Today we’re going to focus on this provocative allegory we find at the end of Galatians 4 and see how it directly applies to our Hebrew Roots friends today.

@@Yugi601 those who are under the works of the law of the old covenant, are a debtor to keep the whole law: for it is written, cursed is everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. { Galatians 3:10-12 } Deuteronomy chapters 28, 29, 30, & 31, covers the blessings and curses of the law of the old covenant. Jesus said to the Jews, he that is without sin among you, let him first cast the stone at her. { John 8:7 } Paul said to Titus, avoid foolish questions, genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. { Titus 3:9 } The commandments of LOVE: LOVE GOD LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR LOVE ONE ANOTHER LOVE YOUR ENEMIES Jesus said to the Jews, but I know you, that you have not the love of God in you. { John 5:42 } John said to the brethren, beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. { 1 John 4:7-8 } Paul said to the Corinthians, though you speak with tongues of men and of angels, and though you have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though you have faith to remove mountains, and though you bestow all your goods to feed the poor, and have not love, it profited you nothing. { 1 Corinthians chapter 13 } Paul said to the Galatians, for all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; that you shall love your neighbor as yourself. { Galatians 5:14 } For love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. { Romans 13:10 }

Fact, what you call bondage One Most High calls it HEART, Specifically HIS HEART! Edit 1 tim 1:5 Now the PURPOSE of the COMMANDMENTS is LOVE from a pure HEART, from a good conscience, and from SINCERE faith, Duet 30 10 if you OBEY the Adonai/LORD your YAH/God and keep his COMMANDS and DECREES that are written in this Book of the .Torah/Law and turn to the Adonai/LORD your God with all your HEART and with all your SOUL. Proverbs 3 3 Let know LOVING commitment ant TRUTH forsake you-bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your HEART. 2 cor 3 3 And you show that you are a letter from Messiah/Christ DELIVERED by us, written not with ink but with the SPIRIT of the living YAH/God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human HEARTS. Ezekiel 11 19-20 And I will give them one HEART, and a NEW SPIRIT I will put within them. I will remove the HEART of stone from their flesh and give them a HEART of flesh, that they may walk in "my statutes" and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my "PEOPLES", and I will be their YAH/God. Jer 31 33 But this is the COVENANT that I will make with the HOUSE of ISRAEL after those days, declares the Adonai/Lord: I will put my TORAH within them, and I will write it on their HEARTS. And I will be their YAH/God, and they shall be MY PEOPLES ie YAHisrael. Hebrews 8 7-13 Hebrews 10 16 This is the COVENANT I will make with them after that time, says the Adonai/Lord. I will put my TORAH/ law in their HEARTS, and I will write them on their MINDS.” Daniel 7 28 Hitherto is the END OF THE MATTER. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I KEPT the MATTER in my HEART Eph 6:6 - not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as BONDSERVANTS of Messiah/Christ, doing the WILL of YAH/God from the HEART, Isaiah 56 6-7 And FOREIGNERS who bind themselves to the Adonai/LORD to minister to him, to LOVE the name of the Adonai/LORD, and to be his SERVANTS, all who KEEP THE SABBITH without desecrating it and who hold fast to my COVENANT - these I will bring to my HOLY mountain and give them joy in my HOUSE of prayer. Their burnt offerings and SACRIFICES will be ACCEPTED on my altar; for my HOUSE will be called a house of prayer for all NATIONS.” ~Now you.can understand~ Jeremiah 17-5 Thus says the Adonai/LORD: “Cursed is the man who "TRUST IN MAN" And makes flesh his strength, Whose HEART departs from the Adonai/LORD. Rev 12-17 00 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the COMMANDMENTS of YAH/God, and have the TESTIMONY of YAHshua Humasheoc/Jesus Christ” Rev 14 12 Here is the patience of the Kadosh/qaddish/saints; here are those who keep the COMMANDMENTS of YAH/God and the faith of YAHshua/Jesus Rev 22 14 Blessed are those washing their robes, that their right will be to the TREE OF LIFE, and they shall enter into the CITY BY THE GATES. ECC 12 13 When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: FEAR YAH/GOD and KEEP His COMMANDMENTS, because this is the WHOLE DUTY OF MAN.

@astutik8909 Analogy is comparing two OBJECTS that are similar. Allegory is giving PEOPLE & their STORIES hidden/symbolic meanings. Got Questions re: Paul's Galatians 4 allegory: "Sometimes significant historical events, which appear at first glance to contain no deeper meaning, are interpreted allegorically later to teach an important lesson. One instance of this is Galatians 4, where Paul interprets the story of Abraham, Hagar, and Sarah as an allegory for the Old and New Covenants.... Here, Paul takes actual, historical people (Abraham, Hagar, and Sarah) and uses them as symbols for the Law of Moses (the Old Covenant) and the freedom of Christ (the New Covenant). Through Paul’s allegorical lens, we see that our relationship with God is one of freedom (we are children of the divine promise, as Isaac was to Sarah), not of bondage (we are not children of man’s bondage, as Ishmael was to Hagar). Paul, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, could see the symbolic significance of this historical event and used it to illustrate our position in Christ."

Thanks for the message. I am beginning to wonder about some of the Pronomian and Hebrew Roots messaging. To me, it is almost as if they think the new covenant is still in the future. To them, they would state your analysis is speaking of a future New Jerusalem and that the Galations (and us today) still live with the old Jerusalem. I know it is wrong, but the more I hear, especially from the Pronomian camp, which at least doesn't hold two house, the more I feel they assume the new covenant is still future state when the New Jerusalem comes. To them, even if they dispute Dispensationalism, most all hold a futurist view, pre-millenial viewpoint including Ezekiel's temple and reinstatement of the Torah sacrificial system. So, in this lesson today, they could easily say that the interpretation on new Jerusalem is future not present. I know this is wrong, but they seem to be saying that is what "scholars" are saying. Of course they will reference obscure scholarship and forgo centuries of scholarship on the subject matter. I am glad you are also addressing the progressive side also. I see that as much of a challenge to today's church as the Legalism side. One side wants to pull Christians away from the church into legalism, like the Judiazers in Galation Church, and the other side wants to pull the church into lawlessness, much like say the church at Corinth.

Btw, most HRM seem to denounce Paul to one extent or another - certainly to the degree where he contradicts their beliefs &/or they'll take the gaslighting approach & claim he MEANT the exact opposite of what he actually said ("Oh no, Paul wasn't teaching against Torah observance in Galatians, he was actually advocating FOR it!" 👀) Recently I've also been running into HRMs who deny Christ is God. It's perplexing, because they'll quote all sorts of New Testament Scriptures as if they hold to traditional/standard Christian beliefs & then suddenly fly off the rails demanding to know where in the Bible God said His Son would also be God? (As if Jesus could carry non-God DNA in His male, God-conceived body? I suppose Mary provided the Y chromosome? 👀) And then when you provide the requested Scriptures they either completely ignore them & continue demanding proof &/or find some trivial point of contention to pick at... ("Did God really say...?" 👀) Which just goes to show you there really is a demonic spirit behind it, just as Paul said.

The ceremonial law on the other hand with the temple and Levite priests and animal sacrifices ended with Christ. He fullfilled (completed) it which is why I'm so sad when Christians want to help the jews rebuild the temple and bring back the ceremonial law. Poor Israel needs a new heart.

Mr. Solberg, please dialog with me! This allegory is often misunderstood by mainstream Christianity along with most of Paul's epistles. It is vital to understand that the first century believers in Christ got all their doctrine from what we now consider the old testament and I know you understand that. The entire epistle to the Galatians is about 1 issue: Salvation comes through your own efforts to keep the law! In the case of the Galatians, they were being told that they MUST be circumcised in order to receive salvation. If I tell you that you must keep the sabbath, eat biblically clean, keep God's set apart times, or any other law in order to save yourself, I am in error. The keeping of God's righteous laws requires perfection, something in our flesh we cannot achieve. Paul tells us this in Rom. 8:7 "Because the carnal mind(fallen nature) is enmity against God, (why?) for it is not subject to the law of God(important part) nor can it be!" So, we see that we have a problem and it is NOT the righteous laws of God! It is our inability to walk out the righteous requirements of the law in this fallen state! With that as our understanding, do we now make void the law through our faith in Christ? Paul addresses this in Rom. 3:31 "Do we then make void the law though faith? Certainly Not! On the contrary, we establish the law!" The Greek word used for establish is histemi and it means to make firm, stand on, or to fix. So, obedience to God's law does play a part in our walk with God. God is fixing a problem and that problem is our fallen state, NOT His righteous laws! And this is what makes this allegory in Gal. 4 so powerful. Paul is using this to explain HOW the law is applied to the life of the believer. If you are going to walk out God's righteous laws, without Christ, it is an effort in futility. Why? Because at some point you will fail, and it is at that point that the very law you were attempting to walk out, condemns you to death. You are attempting to keep the righteous requirements of the law for you own righteousness, however that law is God's righteousness, not ours. We are told in Ps. 119:142 that God's righteousness is from everlasting to everlasting. In Ps. 119:172 we are told that God's commandments are righteousness! Not ours, His! Back to the allegory. Abraham and Sarah were promised a son. God was going to do the work. However, you rightly point out, that Sarah takes matters into her own hands. They attempt to work out this problem of being too old and have a son through Hagar. This is works based salvation. This is why Hagar represents Mount Sinai and is in bondage. This allegory is NOT saying God's righteous laws are bondage, it is saying that if you are going to attempt to walk out God's righteousness in your fallen state, you will be in bondage to walk it out perfectly. You are attempting to earn your salvation through your own work, and in this fallen state that is impossible. We can only do that through Christ. It is our faith in Christ that leads us into obedience. This is the evidence of our faith. That we begin to repent of our sins, which is the breaking of God's law, and turn back to obedience to it! That is genuine repentance and it is what only Christ can do in you. We cannot take credit for this change, He gets all the glory and all the honor! This is what Sarah represents. Trust in God to do the work in you, and this is why she is from the Jerusalem which is above! God gets the glory, so that no one can boast in his own obedience! This is where our Jewish brethren are failing. They are attempting to keep the righteous requirements of God's law, without Christ! And that cannot be done because of our fallen state. This is why grace is given. As we learn to walk out God's law, we will make mistakes, and this is where the grace comes in.Obedience, in your own efforts, does not save anyone. However, obedience is the evidence of the faith you have placed in Christ! Salvation is a process that He begins in us. This is why Paul tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. No one is "saved" until they put on that incorruptable body! God is fixing a problem and that problem is our fallen natures, NOT His righteous laws! By saying Christ "nailed the law to the tree," and "God's law is done away with," we make God's righteous laws the problem! Under the old covenant, the law was written on tablets of stone. But, under the new covenant, God is writing His righteous laws on our hearts! They are NOT thrown out because Jesus came and gave us new and better laws. By saying that you are saying God's laws are the problem, which is in contradiction to Ps. 19:7 which tells us God's law is perfect, converting the soul. Something perfect is not a problem, and the law cannot convert anyone if it has been "done away with!" Christ converts us from sinner(one who walks in disobedience) to redeemed(one who walks in obedience through Christ.) 1 John 2:3 tells us if we love Him, we will keep His commandments, anyone that says they love Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. We keep his commandments through Christ who strengthens us. Christ gives us the power to overcome any sin! Sin, or disobedience, no longer has power over us and that is a true gospel message! With the understanding that Paul and all first century believers got their doctrines(theology) from just the old testament since the new testament was not written yet, I have a challenge for you. If you believe that God's law was going to change with the coming of the messiah and this messiah would give us grace and we would no longer have to walk in obedience to His Father's righteous laws, then find that in the old testament! Where is the chapter and verse for that? Paul praised the Bereans for searching the scriptures to see what he was saying was true. So if Paul is teaching that God's law has been "done away with," the Bereans would have searched the scriptures to see what Paul was saying was true. The new testament did not exist, so where would the Bereans have found this? Where does the old testament teach us that God's messiah would "do away with the law" and we would just walk under grace and be obedient to nothing? I read that under the new covenant, God writes His righteous laws on our hearts in Jeremiah 31. I don't read anywhere that God throws away his righteous laws. You have read my comments before, so you know I understand I do NOT mean the entirety of the law given to Moses. I understand that with the change of the priesthood, there is a change in the laws out of necessity. I believe the changes are to the Levitical priesthood and the sacrificial system for the atonement for sins. There are also laws that are very specific to individuals so common sense should apply. No one is teaching that we have to walk out the entirety of the law as that is impossible for anyone, even Christ, to do! I say that because even if Mr. solberg does not respond to this, someone will! I agree with Mr. Solberg at 16:26 that eternal life is not earned through obedience to God's law without Christ, however obedience to the law is where Christ is leading you. He walked out the law, not so we don't have to, but as an example to us. It is through him, that we learn to walk in obedience. Grace is provided for the mistakes we will make due to our fallen state. It is this obedience that shows the evidence of the faith you have placed in Christ. God's law is being written on our hearts, which means that once you have accepted Christ, you will desire to walk in obedience, no longer to walk in disobedience. It was our disobedience that got us into this mess in the first place! God has always wanted our obedience, but out of our love for him, not to "save" ourselves. Grace and law go together, they are not mutually exclusive from one another. I truly do not mean to post such long comments, but it is impossible to respond to this video without some explanation of things. I do not post to be argumentative. I am wanting the body of Christ to understand that God's righteous laws are NOT our problem, our fallen natures are our problem. God is fixing the problem and it is NOT his righteous laws. The slave women represents walking out the law without Christ, it does not mean we "get rid of the law." In doing so, we would be throwing out the very definition of sin. 1 John 3:4 tells us that sin is the transgression of the law. This is why we have churches compromising biblical truth and bending on what constitutes sexual misconduct. We have "thrown out God's laws!" What do you expect? We are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. The law still applies, but it is Christ doing the work in you, not us striving to walk in obedience without Him! This is a work of the Spirit and not of the flesh, so that no one can boast. I know many will not agree, but I am praying that some may believe so that the body of Christ can begin to be the light we are called to be as Proverbs 6:23 talks about. Ps. 119:126 "Rivers of water run down my eyes because men do not keep your Law(Torah!)" Blessings!

a restoration…well said…but all the Law is in effect as heaven and earth are the witnesses..just as Ismael was a product of the flesh by not trusting in the promise…Israel in the Wilderness had just agreed to be obedient to the Torah when Moses went up the mountain and Israel turned to the flesh. Aaron ( man ) said give me your gold..and ALL the people did and the result was the golden calf ( religion of the flesh, which always happens after rejection of the Truth )..after 40 days Moses came down from the mountain to witness Israel living in the flesh This of course is a prophetic picture of Yeshua’s return after 40 Jubilee years which is 2,000 years after His ascension and this is how He will find the people walking in the ways of the flesh..Got Torah Got Truth

You forgot to mention the scripture where it says that Jesus FULFILLED the law. It means that Christ kept/obeyed the law perfectly. Not breaking ONE. We can never, the Jews could never keep the law perfectly, even if you are a born again believer and led by the Holy Spirit. Thats where Gods grace comes in and the righteousness that is IN CHRIST. Scriptures clearly shows that the Law and Grace doesnt mix. Its either the one or the other. Otherwise Christ died invain.

This is very good. Listening a second time. Do you agree that OT law is a rule for life? If we are to love God and love our neighbor as Jesus said, do we not do that by observing the moral law, which tells us how to love God and how to love our neighbor? I agree, the law does not make us right before God, but we don’t throw it out. It is not for justification, it is for a rule for life. Would you agree with that?

The only real defense to your video is one my friend makes where Judaizing is the extreme position of wanting to avoid gentiles because of the Koshur laws and customs, and wanting to circumcise in order to be Christian etc. But the claim, that believers need to follow the OT law or at least the festivals is definiitely heterodox and I would say heresy because the inference that not doing so is sinful and if you look at works of the flesh passages they imply those people are not going to be saved in the end, and of course not keeping festivals etc. is not covered in such works. The only thing in the ball park is Antinomianism as far as life style when it comes to sexual immorality, idol worship, drunkeness and your various "Seven Deadly Sins" stuff.

GALATIANS 4:24-31 , 24.Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. ( PAUL IS TALKING ABOUT THE HUSBANDS OF THE COVENANTS ( MOSES & CHRIST ) ; WHICH THE SIN SACRIFICE OF ATONEMENT GOES THROUGH . THE ISRAELITES WHO REFUSED TO LIVE BY FAITH ,WHICH IS REPENTING AND BELIEVING THE LAW OF THE FATHER , WHICH MOSES GAVE THEM ; THESE FAIL UNDER THE MEDIATOR MOSES PROTECTION ; THE LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE & OBLATIONS ; WHICH IS A WORLDLY PROTECTION OF THE FLESH , TO KEEP GOD FROM KILLING YOU ; BUT IT COULD NOT FORGIVE THE SIN OF THE SPIRIT/HEART ; WHICH IS REQUIRED BY THE FATHER ) . 25For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. ( THE LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE , WHICH YOU ARE IN BONDAGE TO THE LEVITICUS PRIESTS ) . 26But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. ( THE LAW OF CHRIST ; WHICH IS THROUGH THE HEAVENLY PRIESTHOOD , MELCHISEDEC ) 27For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. ( MOST OF ISRAEL REFUSED CHIST AS THE NEW HUSBAND ; WHICH HE HAD REPLACED THE DEAD HUSBAND , MOSES ) 28Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. ( ISAAC IS OF THE COVENANT , ISHMAEL IS NOT ) 29But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. ( THE ISRAELITES STILL UNDER THE HUSBAND OF FLESH MOSES , PERSECUTES THE ONES NOW UNDER THE SPIRITUAL HUSBAND CHRIST ) 30Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. ( DANIEL 9:27 , And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ) 31So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. ( WE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF EARTHLY PRIESTHOOD ( LEVITICUS ) , BUT OF THE HEAVENLY PRIESTHOOD ( MELCHISEDEC ) . FINALLY , ARE YOU AWARE THAT 3 TYPES OF LAWS ARE TALKED ABOUT IN THE BIBLE ? THE LAW OF THE FATHER . THE SIN SACRIFICE LAWS UNDER THE MEDIATORS ( MOSES & JESUS CHRIST ) , WHEN YOU TRANSGRESS THE FATHER'S LAWS ; WHICH ARE SIN SACRIFICE LAWS OF ATONEMENT . MOSES = LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE & OBLATIONS . JESUS = REPENTING AND BELIEVING THE GOSPEL . SHALOM !

At this point can't we just agree to disagree, and just be kind and respectful to one another? Were Hebrew Roots people unkind and disrespectful to Christians, yes I'm sure they were. The whole Torah observant, Hebrew Roots, Messianic, etc. has become popular over the last 20 years. HR people have come to a different understanding very recently and people were over zealous, emotional, probably had anxiety in their new understanding and took that out on Christians. I'm sure there are Hebrew Roots people that are still like that. And that's very unfortunate. Not all Hebrew Roots people are the same not all Christians are the same. But maybe HR people and Christians can move forward, and just be more respectful now. Now that both parties have had time to process everything. If you're good with a Christian understanding that's good, if you're good with a Hebrew Roots understanding that's good. Just be respectful and just accept we have different understandings. I honestly think that real Bible believing Christians have more in common with Hebrew Roots people, then we think. And vice versa. I just think it's sad that relationships are being torn apart and completely damaged over the differences. When we could just be like yup, we have significant differences here, here and here, etc. But we agree here, here, and here, etc. And some people might not even have significant differences, a Messianic and Christian could have more in common than 2 different Christian denominations. Ya know, not everyone is the same. Like I said just move forward, and just accept that we have differences, and just be respectful, and know not everyone is the same, and that's for both parties. I guess these kind of fractions are as old as the hills, there's Christian denominations that don't intermingle outside of their denomination at all. Is there a way we can move forward? Still having our own faith, but not cut each other off, and think the other is a heretic? Because I don't think we need to go to that extreme... Maybe some people are at that extreme, but not everyone is...

Judaizing is NOT a new phenomenon. It has plagued the church since the beginning as shown by our biblical documents & is the entire impetus & reason Paul wrote Galatians, who describes it as a DIFFERENT & PERVERTED GOSPEL which is no Gospel at all (i.e. it cannot save) & even goes so far as to curse those who propagate it. Therefore this is quite a dangerous spiritual matter & MUST be addressed, both for those who teach it & those who are being persuaded by it. We canNOT silently go along to get along when precious souls are perishing & to advocate such is quite frankly unmitigated cowardice.

There are beliefs within Christian denominations that are just as divisive (if not more) than a Messianic understanding. Every little thing that he thinks comes out of HR is put under a microscope. It's really not that complicated!! I can't stress that enough this is being made way more complicated than it really is. It seems like there's enough people interested, and riled up in their emotions about the debate, to make a profit, (either monetary or a puffed up ego) and that's what's going on here. Because the debate could be dropped for the most part and one could teach what one believes, you don't always have to teach from a debate standpoint. People can make up their own minds, you're not responsible for convincing someone to think exactly like you. And we humans don't save people, God saves people. You have to trust that people are capable of making up their own minds. If you're a part of a larger group, it's a bad sign if you can't think differently, or speak your mind without being chastised, or silenced. This is becoming just as toxic as you claim HR people to be. You don't know every individual that's HR, Messianic or Torah observant person, just like Christians are not all the same. A Progressive Christian could make a channel and say all Christianity is Progressive Christianity. And write books why they think that, and go into exhaustive academic explanations, and get everyone riled up and arguing in the comments. I'm sure there's a lot of Christians that wouldn't like how that makes Christianity look. People who should be friends are becoming enemies because we can't/don't want to move forward. Has society gotten so complicated that we (people of faith) don't know how to actually move forward? Shalom and God bless.

Now I shall provoke a reaction, as Galatians proves that Peter was breaking the law of righteousness, he was committing sin with some Gentiles, the circumcision knew Peter treated grace as a licence to sin and sought to admonish him. Paul called him out as Peters sin took him back under the law of sin and death, Paul speaks to all under grace that if they sin they return to condemnation, something he was not prepared to do. To keep the whole law the circumcision knew Peter could not sin, and to remain under grace Paul knew Peter could not sin, so Paul admonished Peter in front of everyone as advised in Galatians 6:1-10. Under the law of Moses there was no forgiveness just slavery to sin, but thanks to Jesus Christ for Peters repentance he could be forgiven, the lesson is to all under grace that a repentance to restore trust forgiveness is available. We must choose to be a slave to sin as Hagar, or as Isaac born of the Spirit and a child of God, no man can have two masters.

Simon skinner…Peter did break the Law of righteousness …which was that he FEARED the circumcision party ( instructing Jews not to eat with the gentiles )..the Law is about fearing God and not fearing men..so Paul used the Torah for correction purposes as that is how scripture is meant to be used..Without the Torah it is impossible to correct people…The instructions of man is legalism..The instructions from God are Law..Got Torah Got Truth .

@@harryabrahams2770 many believe Jesus got rid of the law or Torah, and replaced it with free grace, but the law of grace is the law of faith, it is only past sons at baptism that are pardoned. Now I do take issue with you about eating with Gentiles, as it was Paul was said Peter sinned, so where does the NT say that is a sin? I guess it was Peyer was eating meat as burnt offerings to pagan God's, as he was eating with pagans, as that is a sin now as before. That gave both the circumcision and Paul the right to admonish him.

THE ISRAELITES WHO REFUSED TO LIVE BY FAITH ,WHICH IS REPENTING AND BELIEVING THE LAW OF THE FATHER , WHICH MOSES GAVE THEM ; THESE FAIL UNDER THE MEDIATOR MOSES PROTECTION ; THE LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE & OBLATIONS ; WHICH IS A WORLDLY PROTECTION OF THE FLESH , TO KEEP GOD FROM KILLING YOU ; BUT IT COULD NOT FORGIVE THE SIN OF THE SPIRIT/HEART ; WHICH IS REQUIRED BYB= THE FATHER ) . SHALOM !

You’re purposely misleading with your … verse 22 cutout of Jesus’s statement to the Gentile woman at the well. Wonder why? Here’s the missing piece you left out that would have created more questions than answers for you. John 4 : 22 “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.” Embarrassing. I’m quite sure there’s a very sophisticated, probably an obviously too sophisticated reason for it. The problem is you are setting up an OT Hebrew straw man by purposely overlooking Jesus’s contribution to the law and commandments. It’s quite true some of the torah is eliminated but note that Jesus then goes into a perfected version of the law that in many ways is much more demanding than the old law. Mathew Chapters 5-7 Jesus says in Mat 5 : 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. Paul relaxes all of the law and interestingly paulus means “least” in Latin.

Ishma'el is the patriarch of the Arabs, those who should be Muslim and who should also obey the Torah of Moses. Tell me preacher, why will you not even admit or answer to this. Who is the teacher to the lost sheep of Isra'el,is it Yehoshua, the one who taught the gospel narrow path or is it Paul who leads the hordes of sinners down the broad road that leads to hell. I show you 4 chapters of the gospel that demands we obey the Law even if it means to cut off your own hand to stop from stealing with it. Rather gouge out your eye rather than look at another person in adultery. Mattan/matthew gospel chapter 5,7,18,19 Chapter 13 and 24 warn us about Paul and goes with deuteronomy chapter 13,the test to see if you LOVE GOD or if you will follow someone else to some other God idol. Do you not understand that anyone who teaches against GOD is of the Satan? I am on the narrow path that leads to life eternal and amazing blessings. The suffering of the temptations ends when you firmly set your roots in our history, to be like Abraham, to understand Moses, TO LOVE GOD so much you will do anything not to offend Him. I love the commandments, they are there as a deterent, not as a punishment. When we obey there is no punishment, why can't any of you see this?? You get rewarded for obedience, for service to the Most High,THE ETERNAL ONE. Please, for the sake of all the souls who listen to you, either hear this truth and implement it,repent as Mattan gospel chapter 4 tells you, obey the teacher or just stop leading others to hell, for your own sake and theirs. Ask me and I will prove christianity wrong with the True Pure words of God. There is no other. Hear GOD'S people, our GOD IS ONE GOD and we will serve GOD with all our heart mind and soul. We will obey your commandments and regulations because they are good and lead to life, life with blessings and protection.

Galatians 4:24 - These things are being taken FIGURATIVELY , for the women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery -- this is Hagar. What Paul is saying is that salvation never came through the law and never was it intended to. Even to this day Jerusalem is in bondage. They deny the One sitting in the heavens as a means of salvation. But what Paul is not saying the Ten Commandments are now done away with.

Rob, If you begin with the wrong premise in chapter 1 of Galatians, you will most certainly misunderstand the Sarah / Hagar allegory of chapter 4. Remember that Paul, before his conversion, was the preeminent student of Pharisaic Judaism. He studied under Gamaliel, grandson of Hillel, founder of the school of Hillel (Acts 22:3), and was well inculcated in the doctrines of what we would term Oral Law today…. commandments of men, traditions of the elders / fathers, works of the law…. in NT scripture. 14 And profited in the JEWS’ RELIGION above many my equals in mine own nation, being MORE EXCEEDINGLY ZEALOUS of the TRADITIONS OF MY FATHERS. (Gal 1:14) This, then, is the perverted gospel of chapter 1 and the same error that the Judaizers are attempting to coerce the newbie Galatians into accepting… NOT Torah pursuance. 21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? (Gal 4:21) The newbie Galatians espouse a desire to be Torah pursuant, but are being distracted from Torah by the Judaizers’ Oral Law teachings. Thus, the covenant at mount Sinai, the Torah, has been taken captive by the fleshly efforts to force pursuance with “fences” / Oral Law by the corrupt priesthood in Jerusalem (Hagar)… instead of relying on the Spirit to interpret and guide in Torah pursuance (Sarah)… the Jerusalem from above, the (Re-)New(-ed) Covenant: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my LAW (Hebrew, Torah) in their inward parts, and write IT in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. You're missing one thing, Henry. The Torah requires circumcision (Lev. 12:3). And in Galatians, Paul speaks strongly against circumcision for _any_ follower of Jesus. "Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love." (Gal. 5:2-6) Shalom, RLS

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, Your words: You're missing one thing, Henry. The Torah requires circumcision (Lev. 12:3). And in Galatians, Paul speaks strongly against circumcision for any follower of Jesus. My response: Well, Timotheus was certainly a follower of Jesus. If Paul was so averse to circumcision of ANY follower of Jesus, why did he, himself, perform the circumcision of Timotheus when the Jews refused to because his father was a Greek??? (Acts 16:1-3) Yes, circumcision is a requirement of the Torah / Law. But you have to place yourself in the shoes of these people at that time. Circumcision was not only a requirement of Torah, but was also the defining act of allegiance to a particular Hebraic school of theology (Hillel in the case of Paul) with their own brand of Oral Law. This is what Paul speaks against in chapter 1 of Galatians and sets the tone for the whole book. Obviously, if the contention expressed in Galatians is authentic Torah Law vs corrupt Oral Law, then the law and circumcision that Paul is addressing in Galatians 5:2-6 is the corrupt Oral Law with its own brand of circumcision being pushed on the newbie believers by the Judaizers. How do I know this? Let’s examine your passage more closely. 1 Stand fast therefore in the LIBERTY wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the YOKE OF BONDAGE. LIBERTY: A particular right, franchise, or EXEMPTION FROM COMPULSION (WNWD) The schools of the time COMPELLED students / proselytes to be circumcised and immersed rubber stamp fashion at the conclusion of their instruction. This is a form of COMPULSION to the authoritarian system of theocratic governance in place in Jerusalem at the time (Hagar allegory of chapter 4). Notice too, the example of LIBERTY afforded Titus in chapter 2…he was NOT COMPELLED to be circumcised…doesn’t say he wasn’t circumcised, just NOT COMPELLED. The BONDAGE alluded to is the forced compliance to Oral Law. Remember that Paul was, at one time, a policeman, zealous for and enforcing “Jewish Law” (Gal 1:13,14; Acts 26:9-12) 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. That is, in the context of the Jews’ religion, Messiah’s atonement will benefit you nothing if you, as a student or proselyte, are circumcised in the rubber stamp fashion of the Judaizers with their adherence to Oral Law that leads one astray of Torah pursuance…sin (1 John 3:4). 3 For I testify again to every man that is (being) circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Again, in the same context, the circumcision and law of the Jews’ religion. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW; ye are fallen from grace. And once again, in the same context… must be Oral Law here too, not Torah Law. Otherwise, Paul contradicts himself: 13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED. (Rom 2:13) 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by FAITH (FAITHFULNESS). Note that the Greek terms for believe, belief, and faith also carry with them the intent of fidelity / faithfulness / obedience. FAITH: G4102, pistis, FROM G3982; credence, conviction, reliance, assurance, BELIEF, BELIEVE, FAITH, FIDELITY (faithfulness) G3982, peitho; a primitive verb; to convince, to pacify or conciliate: - agree, assure, BELIEVE, have confidence, be (wax) content, make friend, OBEY, persuade, TRUST, yield. In other words, there is a follow-through to FAITH…OBEDIENCE. Obedience to what?...Torah, NOT Oral Law. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Gal 5:6) Let’s compare Gal 5:6 to other, similar, Pauline verses: 18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. (1 Cor 7:18,19) But just as you state, the COMMANDMENTS OF GOD REQUIRE CIRCUMCISION. So how are we to understand this passage? 18 Is any man being called out of Judaism? let him not become as the pagans. Is any being called out of paganism? let him not be subsumed into Judaism. 19 Your ethnicity and religious heritage are nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God (which includes circumcision). (1 Cor 7:18,19 Rewrite) By Judaism here, I am referring to the “Jews’ religion” of following Oral Law, Galatians chapter 1. 20 Therefore by the DEEDS OF THE LAW (Oral Law) there shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED in his sight: for by the LAW (Torah) is the knowledge of SIN (1 John 3:4). (Rom 3:20) 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we ESTABLISH the law. (Rom 3:31) G2476, histemi; to stand (trans. or intrans.), used in various applications (lit. or fig.): - abide, appoint, bring, continue, COVENANT, ESTABLISH, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up). In all of Paul’s epistles, then, he is contrasting Oral Law with Torah Law, which most of normative Christianity fails to comprehend, believing that works / deeds of the law are the same thing as law…they are not. I would ask everyone to read the following, but one thing I learned is that many Christians who post do not like to read, always making the excuse that it is too long. The real reason is that you people would rather listen to theologians than allow the Spirit of God to teach you according to the Scriptures. Robert Solberg, again, you have no understanding of scriptural truth, and this is because theologians are men who, instead of depending on the Spirit of God to teach them, what they do is take the Epistles and make doctrine out of them to fit what they have been taught, which is a lie. Did Paul masterfully use the Torah to disprove their false application of the Torah? Tell me, did Yeshua tell the Pharisees and Scribes to not keep the law of Moses, or did he say they lay aside the commandment of God, holding the tradition of men, rejecting the commandment of God, so they may keep their own tradition? Observing the law is not a method of salvation, nor does it make one God's righteousness, it is God's instructions to walk a righteous walk before Him, which is what you Hebrew Roots friends most likely believe. Have you read Psalms 19:7-8? It not only says that the Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul, but it also says that the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The word "enlightening" insinuates "to be or become light." Not only does the law of God lead us to Yeshua, but it also allows us to walk a righteous walk before God. Tell me, did Zacharias and his wife Elisabeth walk a righteous walk before God? If so, what commandments did they walk by that made them blameless? Verse six has the answer. So, if you agree that they kept God's commandments, why would God do away with his commandments if a man can walk a righteous walk before God by keeping them? The reason they were able to keep the commandments was because they sought them by faith, not as they were by the works of the law, wouldn't you agree? Exodus 24:12 says, And the LORD said unto Moses, come up to me into the mount, and be there; and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written, that thou mayest teach them. Tell me, what commandments and laws did God give Abraham verbally that he kept (read Genesis 26:5)? There were covenants that God made with Israel and commandments that he gave them. The Hebrew Roots movement does acknowledge that Yeshua did the atonement once and for all, so why do you continue to insinuate that they do not believe that? Furthermore, they do not teach that one must follow the law in order to be saved. There might be a few leaders in the Hebrew Roots Movement who distort God's word, just like in Christianity, and you should know that well. You are the only one that I know on the internet that continues to attack God's law, depriving believers from observing them in obedience, and that is because you hate the God of Israel and want nothing to do with his laws, which you make appear to be Moses laws. God knows my heart, and the following I am not saying it maliciously, and once in a while I do pray for you, but you are still eating grass, and soon you will start eating dirt. You are starting to look like a mad man when you talk against God's laws, and I have noticed that when you interview people and they say something that you want to hear, your spirit lifts up and that smile in you comes out. SEVERAL HERE MADE IT CLEAR OR INSINUATED, COMING TO A CONCLUSION THAT YOU HATE GOD'S LAWS. By the way, I am one of them who believes without a doubt that you hate God's laws, which you refer to as Moses laws. ROBERT SOLBERG, THERE IS A REASON WHY YOU AVOID MY QUESTIONS ON DEUTERONOMY 18.
