BGU 203 Sarah Jarosz
"The Book of Right-On"
Taped 333-feet below ground, deep inside Tennessee's Cumberland Caverns, this 12-part "musical adventure" series features both well-established and top emerging artists within the broad spectrum of Bluegrass, Jamgrass, Roots & Americana genres.
A veteran musician who'd released two CDs before turning 20, Sarah Jarosz has gone from teenage Bluegrass hotshot to fully-realized innovative artist. Playing mandolin, octave mandolin, banjo & guitar while singing in a rich, throaty voice, Jarosz creates a staggeringly original sound with her new ensemble, featuring violinist Alex Hargreaves and cellist Nathaniel Smith. Their melodic interplay weaves together Rock rhythms, Classical textures and Appalachian melodies.
