The World in Union dates back to 1991, 12 years before Jupiter. Both are great songs and both take their melodies from Gustav Holst's Planets (hence Jupiter) orchestral suite composed in the early 1900s.

I'm not sure why Ayaka Hirahara wasn't asked to sing The World in Union at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup. Sarah Alainn and Hirahara have sung together before.
