This is a misconception. Sarah did say that season 6 was her least favorite to shoot because it was so hard emotionally on her. Not that she hated the season or the direction of the show, but because it took her to a very dark place as an actress. Season 6 is absolutely pivotal, for all the characters, and is possibly the most crucial season. Yeah, she joked that there was suddenly a lot of sex on the show, and there was because the scoobies were all grown up and in relationships, that's what happens. The sex with her and Spike started as a mutual need to feel ...something.... coming from two very broken people. Spike loved Buffy, she wasn't quite there yet, but in the end, she was. Also, sex scenes are super awkward for actors to shoot. Everyone is tired and hot and just wants to go to lunch, and there are 30 people waiting for you to look like you are having passionate sex when you are really uncomfortable, sweating under the lights, and trying to block out the scene and remember any lines if there are any. Plus possible nudity in front of strangers, and Sarah seems like a more modest person... at least in that way.

About sex comment: they were shooting 6.13 episode, where there are 4 sex/almost sex scenes: 1.with rug, 2.on the balcony, 3.when she was dreaming that he came to her room 4.her dream. That's more than all previous S6 episodes had all together before that episode. So that's the reason of words. Because those days they were constantly shooting it 😆 But anyway it seems like she was comfortable enough, I also watched other S6 bloopers with her, including Smashed and Wrecked, where you can expect some difficulties but it wasn't so at all. Also it looks like she has a similar temper with James, they go along well even during some really delicate scenes, so seems like it was as confortable to shoot them as it could possibly be. Taking into account that these scenes are ALWAYS hard to shoot. For some reason people say they didn't expect her to swear etc but it's just because they don't know her and judge based on her fictional character mostly. But real people can be different a bit. You can see that she is pretty straightforward person actually, she can say what she thinks even if someone don't like it that much, and she's not just some 'shy flower' some people may think she is.

@Michael Houston It was a kind of sarcastic comment, based on the cast members saying how great it was. How cast members used to go over Whedon's house to do Karaoke every week. How pretty much everyone would say how great it was working on Buffy, and so on. The only one that ever said how terrible it was, was Charisma Carpenter. And she has good reason, as it was very well documented on how bad Joss Whedon treated her after she showed up to Season Four of Angel, four months pregnant. It was a jab at all the cast members that decided to pile it on without providing examples, because nowadays it's the thing to do. Anthony Stewart Head said that he couldn't believe that he could have missed noticing the toxic environment. When he should have said I never saw a toxic environment. Because in today's society, it's career suicide to question anything that a victim ever says.
