A lot of folks are tossing the word "icon" around it's too much. She is a positive role model for young girls and women, period. For an actress, that is a hell of a feat! No scandals, and she always kept classy. Rare in Hollywood.

In the mid to late 90s, a lot to guys would argue about who was hotter. Sarah Michelle Gellar or Jennifer Love Hewitt. 99% of the time I lean towards brunettes...except when it was between these two. I think people can't really grasp the reach of their work as an actor as they age. Maybe some, a little few, do understand and recognize how many lives and situations on set have changed over the years BECAUSE OF THEIR JOB. Is so endearing that she says it's very odd to call herself an icon, but she truly is. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a show beyond its time. Breaking the conceptions of weak feminity and female vulnerability, giving us one of the strongest female lead characters of all times, despite her own concerns and issues. It's been like 20 years or more since I last watched Buffy, but I remember it very fondly, also remember Sarah Michelle Gellar with respect and lots of love. She was, and still is, amazing
