This hit home for me. Having lost my grandfather (1943-2023) at the beginning of the year and hearing this just tells you "I hope you were long prepared for this." We spent every Christmas at my grandparents' house every year for 15 years straight, and now it indeed will feel different this year.

this song spoke to me because my health has taken me on a journey I never would've chosen. The old me is dead and I can't find her again. I keep grieving her loss and then try and move on like nothing is wrong even though I long to shout that everything is wrong inside me. I have loving parents Praise the name of God! This song says, "I hear your sadness." I used to love Christmas now I don't like it anymore. It's because all the pain I've been through these last 2 years drained me of joy. I don't know how to find myself again. I'm walking like an empty shell. I want to give joy to others but I'm so tired. I'm so tired. I hope Jesus can understand that. Your song is just right for me. Jesus hears and knows your pain. I do also as I've been dealing with similar issues for 25+ years. Be encouraged. All of this can be used by Jesus to reach out to other people in similar situations just as I am to you. You will emerge from this stronger in spirit. Yes, the old Carolina Grace is gone, but in her place is the new Carolina Grace who has more empathy and grace for others because of your struggles. Lord Jesus Christ. please give Carolina Grace the peace that passes all understanding as she goes through these trials and bring her healing. I pray these things in Your Mighty Name. Amen

Regardless of what's going on the in the world, the real meaning of Christmas - that God came down as one of us to save us from our sins - triumphs over everything else. Nothing can separate Christians form the love of God through the Lord Jesus Christ - not political problems, not poverty, not death. Nothing.
