The guitar has a distinct uncomplicated voice as do you Sarah. Always a pleasure when you are on.

One time my binding on my guitar opened up and flowered, and started breathing man, that's the last time I did shrooms.

I was perusing the site and saw Sarah did something today. I just love her take on many of the classics. Hope she puts her albums on vinyl at some point 'cause I'm going to curl up with some headphones and listen some rainy day. I 'discovered' her a couple of weeks ago on GOTD and have become enthralled. Such good, good stuff!

One of my favorites....it’s the guitar I grab when I don’t feel well. Autoimmune leads to many of those days. It’s the broken-in pair of jeans, your favorite pair of shoes, your best friend. The mahogany they used moves at the speed of light and you feel every note. I maybe preaching to the choir, but that v-carve is hands down, the easiest necks to maneuver. I brought out all guns as I sat down to teach my wife guitar after 24 years of saying no. At the end of the first few days of teaching her, the easiest neck for her to play....and mind you she has small hands, was a 1935 Kalamazoo archtop. The purest of V-necks. I thought she would be able to get her hands around on it. Depth at 1st fret is .98, FAT but it provides a natural fit and pivot as there are no shoulders to get in the way. Easier than .83 1st fret C carve. I thought small to start, but the shoulders of even a skinny neck with a 1 11/16th nut can get impede the unfamiliar hand when you are just learning how to move your fingers independently. Something they got right in the 20’s and 30’s. The Waterloo’s are the only guitars that are carrying on this kind of neck carve.

Nothing comes close to an old Gibson. In the past year I traded 2 “newer” Martin’s for 2 older Gibson’s and I’ll never regret it. IDK if it comes thru the speakers here, but Gibson’s just remind me of the sound of Folk/Rock from the ‘60’s & ‘70’s. Much more than Martin’s. Martin’s are great for Bluegrass & such, but there’s nothing like a Gibson.

Far more appropriate for a lady like squeal from Sarah than a weak pathetic one from a grown man (I’m not tearing up, you are!). What a wonderfully soulful earthy rendition. Very fitting for the melancholic theme, RIP Syd.
