I like that there's still no electric light in the cottage. You come to the cottage for a different experience, and I think it is a very valuable experience for the kids. Love that you sophisticated the cottage with design elements, while still keeping it causal on the lake. Well done!! The only thing I would have thought about is to make the dinning room table just a wee bit bigger, so that you can have two chairs on each end, making for a even better end of lake day conversation. Other then that = perfect = love the candles = love that your kids want to keep the cottage simple with candle light. These are amazing traditions that you have seeded in the minds of your children Alex & Sarah, especially in this day and age where everything is plug in electronics. Bravo for raising great kids, genie pigs & a dog!! 💜🐾🏊🏼🚣 Ps who gave this amazing transformation & cottage a thumbs down? seriously! This project is amazing. Sarah’s family & pros worked incredibly hard...if you have ever done a home remodel without pros you know this. Throw in the fact they had to boat everything in just adds another headache element to the difficult project, especially when you need another HARDWARE PART to complete the project that was not expected & you have to make ANOTHER run to the hardware store.

Sarah, I am so happy I've found you online. I've just subscribed. I'll have to watch all of your past videos to catch up. Looking forward to it. We purchased a small old farmhouse 10 years ago, with the intention of renovating, once we paid off the mortgage in a five year plan. The well laid plans changed when my husband got ill, (I almost lost him, not once, but twice). Life has a way of keeping it real, doesn't it? This video has given me inspiration, as we are in lake country (sadly we are not on a lake, nor do we have a view of one). However, I think I am going to do some painting as though the lake was right on our doorstep. The pastel blues, grays, creams are lovely in your island home. I think they would make quite the difference in bringing some sunshine into our home. Thank you for what you do to inspire. Lilli
