Love your podcast. I look forward to it every week. As a teacher I do want to make it known that teachers do take jobs in the summer. However, we also do not get 3 months off. I work 2 weeks after kids leave and come back 2 weeks before kids return. In addition, I attend professional development, create materials for curriculum, and participate additional trainings throughout the summer. On my breaks I catch up on reading to stay at the top of my game professionally. Teaching is not an 8 hour a day job. At least not for me. Recognize teachers for taking work home and working 10-12 hour days. The time I put in is worth it since I do love what I do and am dedicated to this profession. Love my students and parents as well ❤.

I feel your terror. Agree, there's no other option but winning the midterms, not only keeping control of both Houses of Congress, but expanding the majority. Hard to fathom how far America has fallen, that _anyone_ could still consider supporting the Republican Party, which has become an openly fascist, authoritarian, hateful, hypocritical, conspiratorial cult. They've co-opted the word patriots when they're actually traitors. I'm just praying that there are enough true patriots paying attention who will do whatever it takes to vote Blue up and down the ballot to send an unmistakable message that as Americans we're not willing to see our democracy come to such an ignominious end.

Sarah touched on it just as I was typing this, but hysterectomy is based on the theory that women were acting hysterical because of a situation “down there“ and the answer back in the day was to perform a hysterectomy, so they wouldn’t be hysterical. Crazy. Of course, the alternative treatment back then for hysteria was using a vibrator on women. I’m sure they found that preferable. I think that practice still goes on today much more than hysterectomies.
