Just to think I was born a few years later. My beautiful late mother used to sing this song all the time while doing household chores until the Young and Restless came on. Every time I hear it I think of my mother and my great childhood.

I want to believe there is a connection because even Dionne knew her when she was a child and referred to her as "Auntie Sarah". They all were from East Orange New Jersey and got their hair done at the same salon

There was no comparison in their voices, Sarah, was far more accomplished vocally. She was also a pianist. Whitney mainly just had a good strong belting voice, but lacked the ability to modulate between her soft voice and her belting voice--it was either one or the other.

Whitney was not in the same league as the woman. Sarah Vaughan was phenomenal!
