Every girl going through rush should watch this video. You did everything right, you were authentic and kept a positive attitude throughout the process. I know it was risky for you, putting yourself out there, but you were greatly rewarded with a fantastic sisterhood. My daughter just went thru rush at her college and she's a Kappa too! This was a great perspective outside the high pressure South. I did not go Greek in college but am surrounded by it. Although I know several totally down to earth girls in sororities, there are groups that fit more crazy stereotypes as well. You and Madison had a great approach, and I hope girls who decide to go for it will follow ya'lls lead. One of you found it fit you while the other didn't, but you are both still fine in the end. I also find it interesting that I have seen a few schools in colder climates do formal recruitment during the cold season while we crazy southerners do it while it is 100 degrees outside! Seems we could switch those traditions! Since you had not planned to Rush, how did your application process go? Down here, reference letters are a decently big thing (although they say they aren't required, I often hear of girls looking for people who can write them); I figure if you had not planned to rush you wouldn't have gotten any. I'm gonna go watch your rush tips video too for some more perspective. I don't know why I enjoy these thing so much.

Awww yay, I'm so glad it was a helpful video!! Winter rush is definitely rough as well. They had to move us inside during some of the rounds because it was too cold and snowy. But it was nice to have a semester to adapt to college life before finding a sorority. It adds to that factor of it not being end all be all. And for recs- I didn't have any. They're definitely not as common here. I know girls that had them, but they're not a requirement up north. :))) thanks again!! I really tried to stay positive through the whole thing.

Yeah, I get that. I was raised a few hours away, and nobody from my highschool class went there with me. So I didn't have to worry. 😂

Formal rush is only 2nd semester. Some sororities do informal in the fall, but you can only do that as a sophomore. :)
