This is my first children's book and I have lot of questions. I have a Mac and I already created the book with pictures and words on each page but do not know how to exactly get it on Amazon. How does the manuscript part work? I man, do I have o write the book out without the graphics? And I also created the cover of the book, but it says something is wrong, why? You know what, sometimes people propser not just because they have excellent products for consumers, but because their hearts are pure and in the right place. Thank you for allowing everyone the opportunity to thrive and allow their dreams to be realized. I've asked a friend of mine advise on how to publish a book and they wanted me to pay them for the advice. Not that anything is wrong with that, I'm just glad someone on KZbin thought, "sure, come along, there's a seat at this table, let me pull up the chair for ya." You just have up to 1-6 Revievs on your Books on Amazon. How can you be a BESTSELLER ?....?

Ranking doesn't come from reviews. It comes from number of purchases in a 1 hour period. Amazon updates its rankings hourly. You do one big promo, get your followers to all buy at the sane time and its very easy to sell the most books in your category in an hour. Anyone can do it. Now, when I am converting it to pdf via microsoft pdf, it converts as a4/letter size and there's no other option to print as 5x8inches. even though on the print page, size shows custom page size 5x8inches. still won't print in desired size. please help, I can't wait to publish my first book :)

Great video Sarah. However I'm having a problem uploading my manuscript, I hope you can help me. I got an error saying the Interior File must have a minimum of 24 pages. Picture books generally only have around 12 - 14 double page spreads (which is what I uploaded) so why is it asking for 24? My illustrations extend across 2 pages so I can't upload separately. Did your children's book page count exceed 24 pages?

its been about a year since you published that book.. would you mind revealing how many sales you had through Amazon?

Amazon don't sell for you. You need to put effort into your own marketing. I dont really promote my books, but I still get a deposit from Amazon every month; however I do promote my overall business so when my clients go to my website etc they come across them. Pretty much all my sales would come from Amazons algorithm simply saying "people who bought this book also bought this book....". There really isn't such thing as average earnings. If you promote hard, you sell more. If you don't, you sell less. When I launch a new book I'll share it on my social media amd email list but otherwise its organic sales really. At best I've done about $1k in a month, usually its more like $350 a month. But if I marketed them it would certainly be more.

Hi Confusion reigns... Lol. must our number of pages be divisible by 8 for maximum effect? If I have a 40 page PB, minus one page for Title, minus one page for copyright- do I then have 38 pages of my actual book? How do blank pages on inside of cover etc and at the end work? Im not an illustrator, so hired an illustrator. But I made the storyboard and image ideas myself first, which I gave to the illustrator. When they give you the images, you add them to the Amazon word doc template amd save as a PDF. I have a question....I am trying to upload my 8x10 book on kdp. When I do it always tells me to add .125 to the width and .25 to the height of the interior. After I do that and save and upload the new manuscript, it comes back saying I need to add .125 to the cover. So I do that save it and re upload it. Then it comes back wanting me to make more chages to the size again. So I tried starting over and uploading again. Same thing.........Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do?

Hi I enjoyed your video I was hopping you had some tech advice for me. I tried to follow your instructions but it won't let me publish the book it says that I need at least 72 pages my book is only 36 pages, I see yours is only 25. Is there a setting that will allow me to continue with such a large book? I contacted tech support and the tell me to just push continue, I said if that worked I would not have bothered you but thats a story for another time

How to make the illustrations stay in the right place? Mine keep moving or slippiing down the page in the doc or docx documents. Perhaps I need a program to add the story and pictures to....I guess. Anyone know of one?

Im just now learning how to do all this. My husband and I are wanting to publish our childrens book. How do you make the book cover, do you use photoshop, draw then printer copy, computer save pdf? Wanting my interior pages to bleed, be one picture thats on both pages layout.

Dear Sarah, I have been writing Children's Books for a while now, but nothing published yet. I have two books edited, the first one that was edited needs to be reedited. I am looking for an editor that I can rely on. I am wanting to know if you do any editing for others, or do you have someone you can recommend? Also, do you have to have your own illustrations through Amazon, or do they help out with that? I don't want to leave my email on the comment post, but I will check back later for any comments. My children's books are not text dense so I didn't need an editor. I dont do editing services im afraid. I hired an illustrator. Amazon don't illustrate for you, its just a shelf where you upload your finished product.
