I have watched several of your videos and have been inspired to start cross stitching again. I joined a cross stitching group on FB too. I originally started cross stitching in my late teens into my early 20's. I had no one to teach me. I learned on my own. Turned away from stitching fir many years. Then I saw your tutorials. Mixing threads in the needle can look lovely Laura, just try not to mix secondary colours because you will get brown when you look at it from a distance!

It is only recently that I have been taking a real interest in Crewel work as the variety of stitches and effects one can achieve is really lovely. Some wool threads can be a bit challenging, but your Lana thread is excellent.

When should you twist the tread together? I usually I twist my treads. I also have found that cotton tread works better when you wax the thread. Stitching a small pice wax tread helps keep the thread from knotting up. I use longer pice a of tread. Wax works so much better. What is your opinion on waxing thread?

The Bokhara couching is nice mazaima! See the peacock video with 5 stitches for solid shapes. You can make whatever pattern you like with the holding stitches...
