Just want to say thank you, Sarah. Gave birth to my son today and all I could think about was flex and flow. I was upright and focusing on my breathing/releasing any tension. It honestly helped so much and created such a calm space for me before I went into transition. I was also lucky enough to have a midwife trust me and body's instinct to keep moving. In the end, I had such a calm early labour and active labour was for less than one hour. Thank you so much Sarah!

I'm pregnant again, and back in 2020 I was OBSESSED with your channel to help me have an amazing birth. One line that stuck out with me deciding on pain management was "am I coping or suffering?" And it helped me decide to get pain management. Granted baby came out before the epidural was administered but still! I felt in control because of that question. I'm so excited to watch your channel again for this pregnancy!! Thank you!

My most instinctive position for pushing is left side lying with a good grip on my upper leg, I have had two non medicated births and its just where I go. Once I dilate and they broke my water membranes (never had my water break naturally) my body gets into push mode fairly quickly.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Laying on my back, I believe, is what caused my 1st born's cord occlusion right before birth. I believe it can actually be dangerous to be on your back during labor and when pushing.

I didn't dilate all day despite being upright and moving. My midwife convinced me that I needed to get into some more aggressive positions to push labor along. Being on the birth ball was out of my mind painful but she gave me nitrous, broke my water and had me sit on the birth ball all at the same time. I flew into nonstop contractions, couldn't stand it and got an epidural despite trying for a natural birth and my baby was born having aspirated meconium...my water was clear when it was broken. I completely blame it on not listening to me and my body and doing something that didn't feel right.

I did everything in the books and I still labored for 4 days with back labor for my first. Delivery was long too. My doula and midwife were certain that I wouldn't be able to get him out... and that I'll be needing a csection. He was in occiput posterior position. And my pelvic opening is narrow. But I eventually pushed him out. This was unmedicated too. I'm not looking forward to it again soon.

@@juliesemeraro663 I just gave birth to my second baby and I didn't do anything and labor was fast. Water broke by itself and I delivered 4 hours later. Baby wasn't in the best position though. But it's just my body type...narrow pelvis. And I'm short. My daughter hit her head on my bone so now she has a big bump on her head that'll take weeks to months to go down.

I wish I would have seen your video 8 years ago! I was induced and had an epidural with my first. I felt Paralyzed. I couldn’t move. I labored on my back all night, my water had broke (it was a gush and was discolored) 18 hours previously, before the Dr came in to deliver the baby. None of the medical team even suggested moving into different positions. When it came ‘time’ to deliver, my baby’s head was so swollen, the Dr didn’t know what direction his head was facing, and he was stuck. She had given me an episiotomy, but that did little. I pushed and pushed for 45 minutes to an hour. At the end, I told her I felt like I was going to pass out. I gave the last of my energy to two more pushes… he was finally born, but lifeless. A team rushed in and resuscitated him. He had no breath or heartbeat for 8 minutes. He is now a healthy 8 year old, but if I’d known about movement, I think it would have saved us all this trauma.
