Bokuto is one of those characters that is impossible not to love and his relationship with Akaashi is one of the most beautiful and funniest things, there is still a long way to go before they show us their story but you are really going to love them.

Hinata's "You're not gonna do it?" Gives me chills every time.

and it also shows the evolution of their quick, where Hinata is the one who leads the quick. While we did hear Hinata think it, but the fact that he was already in the air was saying the exact same, "i'm already here, ready to spike, ya not gonna do it?" and Kags picked up on that. Great teammates can understand each other without words Hinata leading the first quick in such a fashion really puts a great end to this training arc

YES. I've never been able to get over this. And the thing is he isn't even saying that out loud, Kageyama can just sense that's what he's thinking. I also just love the way the show just goes completely silent, ughhhh it's such a good moment.

This is one of the main attractions for me! She's a very effective and cogent speaker! There's a lot of confidence in her tone and you can tell it comes from within. That gives off a good experience to us viewers! We like to see these things being expressed well and Sarah is just such a well rounded person that you can't help but notice it.

the new quick in a sense is also Yaachi's achievement. yachi always thought of herself as someone unimportant in a story(town person B, who doesnt even have a name). but she was directly involved in the process of perfecting the new move. she helped them practice by tossing the ball for half a month. knowing kageyama and hinata and how they practice, she must have had to toss a lot of balls just in this little time frame. unlike shimizu, she isn't an athletic person. and when it worked, hinata and kageyama appreciate all her effort and give her a fist bump. she feels what they mean and that's why she shudders in excitement and finally has something that she is proud of. gotta love these little but heavily impactful poetic moments in Haikyuu.

Bokuto is soo fun, he is highly talented but also ridiculously emotional both as a person and player soo it afects him alot, future episodes where we see him playing are always very fun, fukurodani is an awesome team too

when you made that "I can't wait to see the moment when it clicks for them" a few episodes back, I just KNEW how elated you'd be watching this episode! it's one of my personal favorites from the training camp arc-- it's so genuinely feel-good and like you said, it just makes you feel so proud of all the boys :') hinata's telepathic "you're not gonna do it?" to kageyama followed by that animation of the ball never fails to give me chills! your pride in them shines so clearly and it's such a joy to witness

Bokuto is pretty entertaining as-is but Emo-Bokuto is even better. I've had those moments where you get into a funk and you're just like"ughh, I suck, don't pass me the ball anymore!" so it was really funny to see this play out in an anime. Also hilarious how Fukurodani copes with Bokuto and how Bokuto recovers. Been on both sides, 😂 Also, I just recently realized that Sarah is Tsukki and Melissa Humana-Paredes is ultimate form Hinata.

My absolute favorite part of this episode is when Kageyama doesn't think they should try the new quick yet but he glances over to Hinata and senses Hinata basically DEMANDING it while he's already in the air, in position. Hinata's "you're not gonna do it?" line gives me chills no matter how many times I rewatch it. The way the music stops and everything, it's so intense. It's phrased like a question but it's basically a "no balls" dare to Kageyama. That's the sort of assertiveness that Grandpa Coach Ukai wanted him to have.

With Yachi, it's not just emotional investment, but she's been an active important part of the training to make it happen. Without the time she spent tossing who knows how many balls up for Kageyama, he'd never have done it. This was a win for all three of these first-years.

Bokuto's an amazing hitter and player, but the team just revolve around him. He's more of an extended arm to scratch ur back. When he's in the court his aura is bright, but when he's subbed out because he cant keep his cool, the team still functions well.

Adding my support as usual, & leaving my personal opinions about the iffy translations as usual (although there weren't any major ones this ep). 13:42 「飲～まれるんじゃねぇぞ、おまえら!」➔ "Don't get cocky, you guys!" This is a mistranslation. The literal translation would be "Don't you dare get swallowed up, you guys!". Bokuto is admonishing his own teammates to not get intimidated by the other team, but their translation makes it sound like it's him telling Karasuno off. 20:12 「ス↑パイク…決まるゥ…マジ、気持ちいい」➔ "It feels so awesome when a spike goes through..." 20:16 「片言になってる」➔ "He's babbling..." The translations for this set of dialogue are just fine, but not exactly what the original lines were. 「片言」means "partial words/imperfect language", so Azumane is noticing how Tanaka was speaking in a broken way (with a funny accent, too) as if he's new to speech, kinda like "Me spike... make good. Me really... feel good". LOL

I think with bokuto it's not just the talent, but also the friendly and outgoing personality, and especially his ease of teaching the others with altruism. When i first saw the anime i was thinking 'gee i wonder where the bokuto story is going from here', but as you well noticed Sarah, it's not just about him. It's also about his relationship with the setter (really love how they develop that) and the rest of the team

Hi Sarah, excellent video as always! I get chills every time before Hinata "demands" the new quick and Kageyama follows through with the toss and Hinata hits it perfectly. Also Bokuto being surprised that is disciple Hinata pulls off the feint/tip he taught him makes me laugh every time. And I absolutely love when they show Akaashi's 0,5 seconds thought process (and swift decisiveness), if he should toss to Bokuto or not - the relationship between these two is fascinating and very well written 🤩🤩

I played basketball in highschool, and we weren't specially good but also not too bad. I only remember being in the "zone" or in the "flow" once, in a semifinal of a spring tournament. Our coach told us in a time out to give it all (not the exact words) and I remember being at 120%, but it only lasted like a minute, I twisted my ankle and we didn't habe any subs available. Another teammate was sent off and we ended the match with 4 players on the court 😂😂😂
