Honestly, don't worry so much about coming across as a princess or ungrateful. You're allowed to not like things in life. I personally despise camping and I didn't grow up doing it. Live your life and the haters are always gonna hate! Thanks for the very real vlog (made even more real by your hatred of camping, imo.)

Oh my GOODNESS…. I sacrificed my desires over and over for the love of my children, and we camped. I hated every second of the prep, the set up, and the tear down… It is work for the Mom. We work so hard in life to get the more comfortable bed the more comfortable home, the dishwasher, the washing machine and the dryer, and then we want to go on vacation and rough it? It’s never made sense to me, but I did it with a happy heart for my children!! They LOVED it, and that thrills my soul!!! Now days, we have a glorious motorhome that is fully stocked and ready to go! I have my bathroom, shower, refrigerator, and we still sit around the campsite and camp!!! It’s so much easier and very enjoyable!!!

Camping is a way to teach children that the most important thing to have a good time is family. Because you are in the middle of nowhere with just a tent and your loved ones.

Haha I totally relate to this. Growing up though, we had a camper and so we did more glamping as they call it and honestly I think that would be a great compromise and everyone involved would be better. In ours there was a bathroom/shower, 2 sets of bunk beds, a queen size bed for my parents and the couch and table converted into sleeping. It was a blast to bring friends and cousins to camp and have all the same experiences without sleeping in a tent

Awwww, this reminds me of a time (10 yrs ago) that hubby and I went camping with our church group; We took our 4 kids, ages 4,5,8,13 and we thought it'd be a good idea to also take our niece and nephew (ages 10,16) and stay all in one huge tent. Well, my 4 yr old cried all night due to a thunderstorm. We got zero sleep. The next morning, my 8 yr old decided to take off his water shoes, so he cut the bottom of his foot as he took the first step into the rocky water; my nephew started turning blue while he was in the water (super cold spring water); my niece got her period. So yeah, first camping experience did not go well. But you know what? My kids cherish this memory. I just can't beleive hubby and I survived. Now our "kids" are 14,16,19,24 and I'm looking forward to making more crazy memories 😂😂 Definitely a camping trip is due (separate tents this time LOL). We still camped when kids got older, and each experience has had an interesting turn of events 😁

The fact that you really don’t like camping (same!) but still are willing to go and do your best to just suck it up and be a good vibe for your family, just shows how good of a mother you are 🫶🏻 also sidenote: I don’t know why but a 4 year old doing perfect push ups might be the most australian thing I‘ve ever seen 😂👏🏻 you guys are built different

I actually LIVE for camping hahaha! But I totally understand how it some ppl hate it. There’s a lot to think about ahead of the trip for planning and packing, food, reservations, or hiking trails and maps. It’s def a lot of prep and breakdown and I also get how ppl hate being in comfortbale sleeping on the e ground and such. I don’t love that part but waking up in the remote woods with silence and tall trees or waking up on a silent misty lake is just beautiful and appreciative of nature and the universe. Especially since you are religious that could be a way to view it that may help you appreciate it more. The thing I don’t love as much is when your right on top of other ppl and other campers at a crowded campsite so maybe a more remote location would help you view it or appreciate it more bc it’s just so much for calming and peaceful rather than chaotic. It def doesn’t have to be for everyone but just offering some help or maybe insight for you and your fam since the boys love it!
@rebecca81028 ай бұрын
It’s a great way I find to unplug and get away from the noise of everyday life and stress. Also I second the camper rv route too as other commenters mentioned. I did as a child in my grandfathers trailer and we loved it so much sleeping in the bunks, making a fire, going to the lake, and hiking the waterfalls upstate NY.

We as mothers think about three things when planning a camping trip, whether or not we love it. 1. All the to dos and things we need to organize and pack. 2. All the mess that we need to unpack, wash, and put away, when we’re back. 3. The fact that we need a serious break after all that work.🤣🤣🤣 And I like camping (with a few contingencies.😂)

I grew up on a farm so my growing up was like camping to me. When my husband wanted to take the kids camping , I was like no way so I stayed home. Then I started going cuz I felt I missed out on the fun. And I ended up loving it so much. The fires, the biking , the beaching , the games and cozy tent. Now the boys are grown and I go camping by myself. The peacefulness of the forest, the sound of the waves , the sun shining through the trees , the hiking and being disconnected is everything 😊. But I feel ya Sarah , it was work for the parents but the kids had so much fun ! Your a good sport for going .

Why don’t you guys get a caravan with ensuite & bunks? We were thinking of selling ours but after watching this Vlog I’m thinking it’s easy with a caravan haha. You still spend most of your time outdoors but atleast you have air conditioning, heating, toilet, full size fridge, oven, kitchen bench and sink. You don’t have to unpack when you get there. It takes all of 10 minutes to set up & we bought an instantaneous hot water service for ours, never ending hot water. #glamp

I will be honest and say I don't really like camping either and I don't even have kids! So I guess you could say it would be "easier" for me. And like you I have gone camping when I was younger with my family (we used to do annual Easter camping trips) and they were fun to some degree because I was with my extended family, but certain parts of it weren't so fun. Firstly, I feel like if you're going to go camping you have to have all the camping equipment; like the tent, the things you cook on, the mattresses, the tables, the chairs and everything else. But because my mum was a single mum she didn't have any of this stuff and couldn't afford any of this stuff, so she always had to use other peoples stuff (problem number one) and then had to set up everything by herself (problem number 2). I mean she did get help from other people in my family eventually, but you can't really enjoy camping until everything is set up and the set up (atleast in my family) is stressful. Sometimes people got into arguments or people got angry and I guess it was good as a kid that I could just wonder off and explore with my cousins and come back when everything was done.. but now that I'm an adult I can't really do that anymore and that just feels like such a nightmare. Like I'd rather go somewhere where it's already all done for you, like in a cabin or hotel or motel or whatever. That way you only have to unpack really. Like there's no stress and you're not just sleeping basically on the ground, trying to battle the elements. Like I remember one camping trip it rained so much and the water went through the tent, or would come into the tent and it was cold and horrible (never camp in the rain). But also why would anyone want to sleep basically on the ground when you could sleep in a bed? Why would you want to be metres away from a bathroom/toilet when it could literally be steps away in a cabin or hotel/motel? And some people's ideas of camping is even more rogue where there is no toilets or bathrooms and you just simply bring your own toilet and shower, or do your business in the wild, that sounds even more horrible to me. Then there's bugs and everything is just dirty all the time and no matter how many times you clean it or shower yourself, you just never feel clean when you're camping. It doesn't feel cozy or homely to me, it just feels gross, like there is no where I can just lie down and relax. I'd much rather just get a cabin in the same place that others are camping, because I really hate the idea of sleeping in a tent. I get that it's fun for kids because it was for me when I was kid, but now I am an adult, it just doesn't feel that way anymore. I don't think that makes me a princess, I think it just makes me know that I have learned more about myself now that I am an adult and camping is just not one of those things that I find fun or enjoyable. I mean nothing against people who do find it that way, it's just not my thing and I think it's perfectly fine for some people to like something and other people to not. It's just personal preference really.
